A quick search yielded nothing so here goes.

Who on here does their basic servicing at home? IE: filter, oil, etc etc?

Reason i ask is, i've done 90% of my servicing at home - or at least i did when i was in Geraldton and had ways of getting rid of the old oil. Now im in Brisbane, and its due for another service but i wouldn't have the foggiest idea what to do with my used oil.

What do you crew do?

Its a great preservative of timber fence posts. But don't tell ya neighbor or they may get upset.

Cheers

mate just take your old oil down to your local service station where they probably will have no problem taking it & puring it in to there drums of old oil that is picked up free off charge by the waste oil collectors...

One of the truck drivers at work was going on about a dump station for used oil. I'll instigate this further. I have a few litres to get rid of.

FS: Used oil, free to good home!!

Poor it back in the bottle and stack it next to the other bottles of used oil in your garage
I was going to say that
i have 4 5L bottles sitting here it always comes in handy for something
plus a black fence from all the oil on it guess i wont be getting termites in this fence

I put mine next to my recycling bin and the driver jumps out and picks it up. Check with your local council, they may do the same.

ring the council they will tell you how to dispose of it, they normally have a place where you can take it to

Back in the early 90's it was hard to find a depot to take oil. Then, I found out a mate never changed the oil on his 120Y, just kept on topping it up. Bingo, the solution to my oil disposal problem. Alas, the horrible little thing died before I got rid of a single litre!!

I think the Bunya dump will take old oil. Costs nothing if you live in Pine Rivers Shire.

Just quietly I dug a hole years ago in my backyard to put oil in, comes from the earth so it can go back.

I know this probably is not much help but here in mexico if you take it to the tip in a sealed container they will dispose of it without charge.

now time for a little siesta..........

That made me laugh. I used to drain the oil out of my Monaro and put it through my heap of sh*t Corona. If I had any excess I'd give it to a mate with a bunky old Charade.

I do my own servicing at home. In the ACT at least, all of the recylcing centres around town also have a bin/drum/place for old oil. As someone said earlier, ask the council or check their website for further info.
