View Full Version : Project Calais V - Dyno Results
While the final modification path hasn't yet been decided for the Calais it couldn't possibly be driven in standard form for any longer.
First up we gave the tune a bit of a tweak with everything else completely standard.

Next went on a OTR and maffless tune.

And as it is now, with a catback system. This configuration ran a 13.3 in full weight street trim. We have been finding excellent results with only a cat back system change on VE's, showing just how restrictive the factory system is.

Good to see a car going down the mod path from you blokes Rob.
I cannot see dynos and pics here now, due to sites being blocked by the local IT crew, so can you detail the numbers for each stage please.
Cheers and keep the updates coming,
Macca

We are currently trialing the Russo OTR on this car. However we have also used a modified version of our LS1 OTR on a VE with success.

Hi Guys,
What are you expecting with 4 into 1's and high flow cats with a re-tune?
Cheers

Thanks for detailing the progressive gains. Interesting to see the gains with each mod after a tune has been done first. 24 kw gain with a Russo OTR, mafless tune and 3" Xforce catback seems on the low side. Any reason for that? What A/Fs are you running?
Tests by "others" have shown that the rear mufflers on the 3" Xforce system are very restrictive ..... Any chance of just unbolting them and running it up so that we can see how restrictive they are?
I look forward to seeing how the project goes.

Those gains are what I would expect from a VE. The factory tunes have come a long way since the VT2/VX hey. Good on you HP-F for posting some real world figures and not miricle hp gains others are producing from an intake and exhaust upgrade.
