i'm a qualified full time mechanic... and i've got a few of the 'superworks gold' ring/open end spanners in my collection...
working on mainly toyota machinery, sizes like 11, 13, 15, 16, 18, 20 and the like aren't used a lot, so i bought the SWG spanners cause they were cheap and seemed ok... so far after having them almost 12 months or so there have been no breakages, bendages, or anything like that. the usage isn't huge, but they are holding up very well...
another good thing is their spanners are long in the shaft, and have quite thick handles so they are comfortable and don't hurt your hand when you're really getting onto them.
they don't hold the head of a bolt as precisely as a good snap-on spanner, but they still do the job very well... but when for the price of two or three snap-on spanners you can buy a set of SWG's its pretty good for the home back yard mechanical type DIY dudes...
what i'd say is - buy what you need and want...
and if you break it, its got a lifetime warranty, have it replaced... if you break it again, buy something a little more high end :)

I used to work there...
It was me (cert 2 in servicing and maintenance) and another guy (qualified panel beater) we ran the show there!

Aint that the truth. I read on a forum somewhere once a guy went into Supercheap and asked for a lifter for his HQ. When he was presented with a trolly jack, he left the shop laughing! :D

Its the only reason they get blokes going in there and keeps them in business.
My little sister used to work at our local store, she has a lot of mechanical experience so the rest of the staff used to ask her.
