Try this link here and have a read through.Prices i think are in USD but you will at least get an idea of what is out there.

Incidently i am running Goodtear Eagle F1's in 235/45/17.
At a recent trackday i ran 12.624@113 mph cam only, which i think should answer your question in part :)

Hope this helps.

There are MUCH better tyres that are sticky over Eagle F1s!

Look. Call and ask questions.
Any R spec tyre will do teh trick

I'm quite sure there are :)

Care to name a few of them?

Not really. I run R specs on the rex.

 Think your average 235/245 semi-comp is going to outgrip any 265 street tyre ....Nitto 555R 245x45x17.....good for 1.6 on cam only A4 cars and 10,000Ks road Ks ,with plenty of strip passes thrown in...in fact it was this tyre that put the big unopened barge BBB1 into 12.52 territory at 107mph not too long ago :)

Bridgestone RE55...235x40x17" ..another semi comp tyre good for 10K of road travel with plenty of strip work..1.6 sixty ft material...

and the big guns.....MT DR 275x40x17"......as good as any fully fledged racing slick on our A4 cars up to H/C power levels.....street legal this one and looks it...acheived numerous 1.51 launches on this tyre.

I've always preferred Yokohama's - can't start to recount the times the Yoko's have saved me from all sortsa shit, in Rotaries, sixes and eights... I've just put 17" A-Drive R01's on the AU and am about to put 18"s on the WH - difference in the grip and response is remarkable, and they're so bloody quiet on the road compared to a stack of other 'performance' tyres...

Bridgestone told me that the RE 55's have been super seeded?
Is this true?

Mate just bought the best tyre I have owned... makes a slippery ute unbelievable.
Bridgestone Adrenalins's... absolutely the best tyre I have driven on.
I heard a story that the drift boys were spewin they bought them... cause he couldnt get the back to step out anymore!!
I would not hesitate to recommend these to anyone... they will be going on the Mrs WRX very soon - cannot wait to feel what they are like on that!
