Hi all,

When i start my car (vy II clubby r8) on the radio a message comes up on the screen, Voice in, and i was wondering what this message is. Is it a bluetooth phone type thing.

Thanks

Brady.

Mine does this as well, and if you turn up the volume you can hear the beeps. With my clubby i have holden assist and i know when you dial out via holden assist it shows the voice in while you are talking to the operator, and you can adjust the volume etc.. Im not too sure if its got anything to do with bluetooth.

Mine does it too. Definitely a Bluetooth function, initially pairing with your phone on startup. Also comes up when you are receiving a call and mutes the radio/CD as well.

If you want to double check, either try to link a bluetooth enabled phone to it, or else remove the left hand cover between the glovebox and console side, and look for a module plugged in to the phone connector behind there.

"Voice In" also comes up if you have holden assist fitted to the car but not activated.

The voice in message is when something activates the mono sound input on your stereo, so bluetooth, holden assist or some aftermarket car kits. Our statesman with holden assist does this when the car is in the country and the module can't get reception... it beeps four times. It also shows when you're talking to Holden Assist.

Phone is connecting to your car, ring someone and talk into the mic. Mic should be near the re-vision mirror.

I've had my car for months and this is the first time it started doing it.

MY 01 WH International does the same thing. When you turn on the ignition to accessories before you crank the LS1 over, I get "Voice In" and 4 or 5 beeps. Its been doing this since I terminated the factory Holden Assist contract about 4yrs ago (was crap, never assisted me, expensive fee's & waste of $ IHMO). Bloody scam. It keeps beeping till you sign up again probably lol :deal: Thats how long Ive put up with it
I even get a similar thing happen when I shut of the WH now, where the stereo does the same beeps as on start up, but does 7 or 8 beeps. I have never found anyone who can explain it (inc. Holden's).
Keep in mind too that those Holden Assist mirror's (depending on model) are about $150-$250 to replace when they pack up...WTF!

My vy2 senator, had NO blue-tooth, but did have holden assist, So it must be the unit hooking up with the radio, Even if it ain't activated it will still connect!
