are they a good first bike compared to the other offerings that are out there if you plan to keep it longer than 2 years? there $7400 ride away and look horn, will they hold resale value? cheers

250s generally hold there value alright as everyone needs them, providing you keep it in good condition.

The new Kwaka 250 ZX2 look great, so IMHO i think they will hold their value well.

Take one for a demo ride, if you like it buy it :)

They are a grey import, they are uncomfortable and may be hard to get parts for.
A ZZR 250 is a much better 1st bike in my opinion.

how are they a grey import? you buy them off the showroom floor at any kawasaki dealer.

Dont waste your time with a 250 IMHO.
Only 250 to buy is an RGV...

Ok for starters there is no such thing as a 'new' ZX2...the new 250 Kawasaki is selling is called the Ninja 250. The ZX2 being referred to as a grey import is the old 1990's ZX2/ZXR250 (the ones with the vacuum cleaner tubes running from the screen to the petrol tank) which are a completely different bike.

Although not officially called the new ZX2, even dealers are refering to the new ninja 250s as a ZX2, inline with the ZX6 and ZX10's.

Either way, IMHO i think they will sell loads of them, good looker for a 250 :)
