Colour of VE Ute...... [Archive] - Australian LS1 and Holden Forums

Normally I will take a blue car over most (maybe not black though) I thought I'd look at getting a blue SSV, well I saw a blue VE ute and I didn't like it, it had a really strong hint of purple when it was in the sun, then yesterday I saw a blue one on a truck and it looked GREAT, it seemed like it was a really vibrant sort of blue, which come to think of it I believe I saw this same blue on a VE calais, ooooohh it looked good.
Am I going crazy or is there different blues (I know there shouldn't be).
Or is this blue really sensitive to different lighting situations, as to what colour it looks like?

There are a few different blues on VE's at the moment. Impulse has just been replaced with Voodoo I believe (Impulse was also on VY II Monaro VZ SV6 SS and late MY06 and MY07 VZ wagons as well as VZ HSV and on VE's of course). Voodoo available from Mar 08 production I believe in line with the VE update model, though I have seen a VZ wagon here in that colour also (no doubt a "trial colour" also at the time).

KPow is the blue that has some purple in it, available on VE. Then there is a replacement for Odyssey called Equator, not sure if out on market, but a dealer here in Perth has a Berlina in Equator as a "trial colour". Vespers is still available since VX days which is a very dark blue, and Provence has been around since start of VE and therefore some late VZ wagons also.

Thanks The Brock, that cleared a few things up, so really voodoo probably won't be on the utes until maybe next year (if at all), not sure I can wait that long, aaah who am I kidding, of course I can't.

I like that they have brightened up the VE9's interior with the Silver spoked steering wheel from the Berlina and also the silver strip across the dash. Makes the Sports models not so dark inside anymore.

The dealers will be loving the new Voodoo blue. Similar colour to the Subaru blue on every second Impreza and the Mazda blue on every second Mazda 3.

Its gunna sell its tits off I reckon.

Mate how much did yours cost? I got quoted $140 for passenger and $80 for drivers. Obviously I told the parts guy ill just spray can it coz thats ridiculous.

SS-V has optional Voodoo leather in Phantom, Voodoo and Nickel/Nitrate exteriors.

Years ago I saw a Black car with Blue leather interior and it looked hot.

I can confirm that Voodoo will replace K-Pow as the new "Blue". You can order it now in all models. Delivery time for SS is about 6 weeks so I was told yesterday. Voodoo was shown at the Melb Motor Show on the new Sportwagon and has a metallic sparkle in it and looks stunning .... way better than K-Pow and has more "bling" than Impulse.

Voodoo actually replaced Ignition. Along with the colour keyed interior.

Current blues are:

Vespers Blue
Voodoo (New) sports colour only. Great Colour

They obviously made a mistake as I am one of many who has put red strips in to replace the original black ones and from memory they were around $120 the pair.

Was just going to ask how Voodoo differed from Impulse as in the pics it looks very similar.

Karma is a dark jade green metalic and is available across the entire ute range

Lucky I checked the posts before I stuck those ute pics up!!! How good does that Voodoo SS ute look? Brilliant blue and as someone said, not unlike the WRC rally Subie blue. Maybe a few Holden insiders have been perusing the forums lately... Hats off blokes!

Looking forward to seeing a ute in Karma too, nicely lowered on 19s..

Dont ever go off holdens website or brochures cause there colors are no where near close.
Have a look at voodoo on the holden website and it looks like the VZ turismo (which looks great too bad they don't actually make it).

sorry but i think you will find karma is a smokey blue color is the sedans 09 build

hey guys, just got new VE SV6 Ute in wait for it........VOODOO!, cant wait still have to wait 4 weeks for delviery arggghhh :bawl: im guessing as i got the Onyx Clothe it comes with that blue interior??

Voodoo SV6 Ute comes with Voodoo cloth inserts and the Onyx dash. The only way you can get the Voodoo dash is to go for the SS-V with the Voodoo leather option.

BTW congrats on you new ute!

The silver dash/steering wheel/cup holder treatment on MY09 cars worries me a bit. Has onyone else experienced the 'silver' wearing off the steering wheel, stereo, buttons etc on earlier models (VY in particular)?

It's for this reason I'm currently looking at a securing an MY08 SSV while there is still stock around.

I had a Ingition SSV and have the orange inside. I liked it a first but it became to much. I had the onyx strips to brake it up abit.

i just got a HSV R8 in KPOW and i love it. Onyx inside. It is a lot easier to look at over a long period of time.

I picked up mine in black 3 weeks ago with the 09 interior and black leather. picked it up at 3pm, by 5pm it was slammed with 22" wheels, debadged and replaced with chev decals and grill. The ve ute looks awsome in all colours but black is just stunning.

Very very happy right now! Just bought a Voodoo VE ss ute m6 for delivery in a couple of days. Was just sitting there as dealer stock until I snapped her up. Sensational colour reminds me of Ford BA Blueprint which I always liked.

Interior looks great also with the minor updates

I was always a black only man but been there done that now and the Voodoo looks great!

I was very skeptical about getting the added protection by Crystal Elements. However I had a similar product/protection applied to my Nissan X-Trail and it has proved to be very good. Especially when it comes to washing and then just chamoising the paintwork.

I hope they do a good job! :confused:

My VE SSV Ute arrived at the dealers today! It's Voodoo! :) I have to wait a couple of days for the tow bar, window tinting and paint/interior/electronic rust protection to be fitted/applied.

I'm excited! :eyes: :smilesandbanana:

Good stuff mate - I went through this feeling on Tuesday, pick up the car today! I cancelled the paint pro and tint from the dealers on the advice of people on here - each to their own though.

Enjoy your ride, will probably see you out cruising in your new baby soon!

I was very skeptical about getting the added protection by Crystal Elements.had Crystal Elements top of the range treatment applied to my HSV VXII R8 by the dealer when i bought it second hand...sucker me paid stupid amounts of money for it coz the hottie selling it basically had her DD tits in my face and i could see what she had for breakfast thanks to the tiniest skirt i have ever seen....

end result me threw money away and gained a black car with the worst case of SWIRL marks i have EVER seen....

hope ur case is very different but a quick search on here will end up with same results as what i have had from other ppl that have gone down the same path

save ur money on the protection and give Kay from AutoFX a call and get her to put on the PRT (Polymer Resin technology) treatment on ur car...couple coats of that and a coat of glare and u will b set.

I just rang them and voiced my concern about the swirl that has been left on some paintworks and they told me that they have done plenty of black, dark blue new cars etc etc and they have not had any issues with so called swirling on the paintwork. I told them I will be dropping by after work to check it out. It is having the protection applied as I type! :confused: :eyes:

I went and checked out my car at the dealership today and the paintwork is looking mighty freakin fine with the Crystal Elements applied. I may be picking it up tomorrow if they get it rego'd in time. :smilesandbanana:

dayaammm that voodoo blue looks good! ... i looked at all colour when i got my ute in december but they didnt have any that I liked (except for black which i love and ended up getting) ... tell you what would look awesome though is gunmetal grays (or whatever its called) the dark dark grays they put on stateman etc ... that on a ute would be awwweesome. Dark tint, chrome barwork, yummo!

Dude, DAMN! thats a wicked colour! was that available in october / november last year? (thats roughly when i placed order for mine, black being only one i like). Last ute was black too so would have loved a different colour! (still love black of course :) )

Nope, wasn't available until April this year.
I like it despite other peoples opinions.
Just had it tinted today and will probably bring it down around 35mm soon.

Mine does, I wanted it to be all onyx but they said they couldn't source a voodoo without the silver trims. :bawl: It looks alright I suppose!:eyes:

cant wait to put the tiens on and get rid of the stock exhaust sys( cat back )LS3 HSV headers look very big compared to LS1 so i will leave them for a while as thear is some new stuff coming for LS3

I pick my ute up Monday, I'll see how I feel about the silver strips after driving around for a bit! The steering wheel has the silver on it as well! I definitely preferred the all onyx interior, it does break it up a touch though! :1peek:

Its sitting on a set of HSD coil-overs and i got the EGR hardtop for it. Have also brought some Calais chrome highlighted door handles, just havnt had time to paint and fit them yet.
