Hi Guys,

I think I finally have enough posts to be able to link some images in - this is my old ride, a '98 AU Falcon - pics of the WH to follow once the wheels are on and the tint is done...

I'm a photographer, and if any South Australian members want shots of their cars let me know and we'll work out a time to suit - if enough of you want shots, I'm happy to turn it into a meetup or let's make it a cruise to a decent location...

There's something wrong with those photos... can't quite put my finger on it... oh yeah, it's a ford :jester:

But in all seriousness, well done with the pix. Where did you shoot the ones in the hills?

There are some nice pics you have taken there. (esp the use of sunlight)

Top shots there, the only thing that would have made these better would have been to have a SS or HSV in them :)

Welcome aboard

Cheers

Don't worry, the WH will have the love of the lens lavished on it every bit as much...

The hills shots are just on the top section of the run up Greenhill Road... I do the last connecting section from Mt Lofty, too... the moody shot with the trees is the Waterfall Gully road...

Has it been photoshopped - well, yes and no... you'll probably never see an image from me that hasn't been into photoshop, just like when I shot film, I very rarely showed the straight image of the negs, either... a number of minor editing techniqes are the staple diet that makes an image the work of a photographer, not of the camera... in this particular image, I have darkened the edges off a little, to increase the feel of a 'tunnel', but otherwise it's pretty much as shot, once levelled out some, and the colour pushed by 15% to make it look more like it was shot on Velvia...

To get this shot, use a slow exposure in an area where your car is neatly under a canopy of trees... the signs are lit by my headlights, the light at the end is actually daylight - overcast daylight, if I remember correctly...

Start with say, 1 second at f/16, that will allow for a slow, dark exposure, that will still capture enough detail in the image - the rest comes out when you correct the levels in photoshop, shifting the black, white and midpoints up... happy to take anyone to that location and repeat the steps if they want to do it with their car...

Cheers,
Stuart
