As stated above has anyone else with a VE had a problem with the windscreen washer bottle leaking?

Ever since i bought the SV6 the washer bottle has always been empty because of a leak.

I took my car for it's first service (2 months ago) and the dealer told me it is a known and common issue with the VE and that the part is on order and they will let me know when it arrives.

I call them every few weeks to check whether it has come in and still no luck so just wondering who else has had this problem and how long did it take to get fixed?

Atleast its not a mechanical issue but yeah it's abit annoying having to throw buckets of water on your windscreen every few days to clean it.

Very common. If you :search: you'll find plenty of posts about it. :)

Good idea, but not yet because i keep getting told it will be in soon and it's the closest to my house and work.

I might try calling another dealer though out of curiosity.

These keep going on to backorder, so the only dealers that can do them straight away are the ones with some stock still left.

Yep, had the problem on my VE SS, got sorted out about 2 months ago.

Took around 2 weeks for them to get the bottle as they were on backorder around Australia.

I see there is heaps of stock in Qeensland of the washer tubes.

There is also a new part number to for a flexable hose to fix the problem. I will post up the number later as I don't have it here.

Many dealers will not sell their hard earned stock of these to other dealers.

Unless accident damage is involved, all you should need is the 92224546.

Neither of our VE's have this problem. Just lucky i guess.

For the work hack (VE Omega) I didn't have the spare time to get the car down to a dealer to try and get this thing sorted so I just sleeved the cracked pipe with a piece of garden hose shoved down the inside. Works just fine and haven't had an issue since.

Just to clarify this topic, only early VE's regularly suffered it. Holden have been building them with the new (different plastic) part for donkeys now.

Hi all. Restarting a very old thread here. A couple of the earlier posts referred to a field fix for this problem. My 07 VE SSV 6M ute has just developed this problem. Should it have been dealt with years ago by the dealer, or might it have just failed again? I've had the car since new.
Start filling washer reservoir, and water just runs straight out at left side of car. How easy is it to fix? Do I need to pull the front bar off?
Any help appreciated. Cheers, Mike

Its accessible if you remove the lower tray off the front bar.
Get the car up on ramps or jack stands.
