Rockets are fun, I used to build them years ago (my own designs, not kits). The bigger the better.
The motors go quite well stuffed into the back of model cars too :nyuk:

Most model/hobby stores that sell all of your rc stuff model kits and so on should stock some of them and the engines for them :)

And yes everyone seems to enjoy themselves watching it, launching it :)

An yeah i used to build my own too.. love the multi stage rockets :D..

I once put a C size engine in one about as big as 4 pencils glued together in diameter.. only foot long too lol that thing went a mile and took me two days to find lol

I like the concept of having an SR71 instead of a "rocket" shaped rocket.

Be good if it had control surfaces so you could fly it back down like a standard RC plane. (although I suspect the SR71 wouldn't make a terribly good glider).

I've been flying model rockets for the past 25 years, since I was a kid. Now I have kids of my own I have found that they enjoy getting out there with dad and launching them too! I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to completing my kits, but I'm also impressed with the "interesting" colour schemes my 5 year old comes up with for his rockets.

The hardest part is finding a suitable launch area with enough space and a windless day. Unforetunately I have lost a couple of rockets over time whereby I didn't abide by my better judgment when it came to being too windy.

I too lost a very small rocket called "The Wasp" which was basically a C sized rocket tube with wings attached.........I launched it about 20 years ago and I think it is still in orbit!

I agree thought, it's a great family hobby especially with your kids able to be actively involved in almost all of the processes. Anyway, enjoy.

Cheers
