I have a Honda VT 250, when i went to start it yesterday morning i turned the ignition on and had all the lights come on like usual but as soon as i pushed the starter button there was a (click) like a switch flicking then absolutly nothing. Not even lights. I have checked all the fuses and they all seem fine, my question is could it be the ( ignition module?) not sure if its the right name, but the positive terminal lead runs into a small canister shape unit with another lead coming out the other side which seems to connect to the wiring harness. If this had packed it in would the 30amp fuse on it have blown? Could there be any other possible causes for me to look into, especially over this weekend as i obviosly cant get a replacement item at the moment. By the way the bike ran fine the night before on the way home.

Well if you ask me the battery sounds like it is flat...

You are absolutly correct. Thats what the problem was. The battery was shot, i put it on to charge to check it and when i put it on the bike there was a tiny amount of power fo about 30 secs then nothing. So i was glad for supercheaps 20% off sale, i got a new one and she runs perfectly again.

Thanks for the reply

Cheers Richard

If you have a hill handy you could bump start it, but in 2nd.

With batteries, Sometimes its just luck of the draw. You could get a battery that will last for years and years or you could end up with a shitty battery that will fail a month after installation.

The battery in my ZZR is still the factory one, from 6 years ago, and its still fine even after having been removed from the bike and not used at all for 8 months when I was away. Its a little bit sluggish on cold mornings these days but most of the time it's fine.
