G'Day everyone, just after some opinions on what bike I should upgrade to. Currently just on a 250RR which I've had for a couple of years Ls, Ps etc. Have been riding for about 6 years however.
Really open as to what I want atm, only criteria being a sportsbike.
So 600 v 750 v 1000 - Kwaka v Gixxer v Blade v YZF?
Probably wont be going brand new, anywhere up to about 5 y.o.
Cheers, Alan.

It really depends on what you want out of the bike
bigger bikes are going to be more powerful and faster in a straight line, smaller bikes are going to be lighter and a little easier to handle but not as fast
I went from a GS500 (35hp) to a GSXR1000 (155hp)
i got a big one because i wanted a sportbike and something i could take to the drags and dip into the 9's

Probably tossing up between a 600 and 1000. But what sort of compromise is there for those two capacities re: straight line, weight, bottom end, cornering. i.e. a 1000 is faster and will pull harder but how much faster are they point to point? Is the weight difference and cornering hugely different.

im biased, have an 06 gsxr 1000,but also had an 04 gixx 1000 and both are awesome bikes with heaps of grunt and handle like 600's.Not sure what the 600's weigh but my 04 was 168 kilos dry and my o6 is 166 dry.Cant go wrong, unless you crash

What colour was your 04 world?? i have a k4 1000
the difference between a 600 and a 1000 is just the outright FARK ME factor...1000's just pull and want to turn the tyre everywhere, very very easy to get yourself in a sticky situation, 600' are similar but just take a little bit more abuse to get you to the same point
in regards to waht brand you want...it just comes down to personal preferance, what looks better (to you) and which is more comfortable
Suzuki tends to be an all rounder, great power and handles well
Yamaha is a little down on power, handles fairly well but is just porn on wheels
Kawasaki 's generally have the most power and are the biggest handful or most raw
Honda are generally a bit lower on power, but much more refined and just handle better than the others
then you can start looking at the euro's like Ducati - more $$ but absolute porn and like buying a ferrari compared to a holden
