Words can not explain how impressed I am with my new Ultimate Brake Package from Harrop! I picked them up from NQX on Saturday and we fitted them yesterday (the only problem is the braided line goes in at a different spot than my older smaller ones).
I have another thread here where I'm not happy with Harrop over the handling of a power steering pully (and that still applies) but have to give them an A+ for the workmanship that has gone into these!
Well done guys!!

Holy sheet Scotty the disc is massive...and the caliper next to the old one looks even bigger!! Then again you would need all the brakes you can get to slow your car down!
ps is that a new power steering pulley under the caliper picture?? :) Fun to be had all round...

Sensational
You must be into some serious circut work to need an $8k+ brake kit. Love it :)
I saw these on Nick's coupe4 the other month, and they barely squeezed under those 19's. They look even more massive in the flesh.

I'd be investing in a spare set of pads for the next track day Scotty.
Those 66 grooves in those rotors are like a cheese grater to your pads.
You will be lucky to get one good day out of a set of pads with the weight and speed that your beast will carry.
What pads are you going to run on the track?
They look the goods that's for sure - I've had a couple of sets over the years and still have a set on my Coupe 4.
Just don't push it on the track with the Bendix Ultimate pads the kit comes with thou mate - it may well end in tears.

Cheers mate! Have decided to only do "Lap Sprints" now for some fun! There's way too many working parts regarding the blower etc to get into "Street Car Shootout" competatively.
Will now be looking at getting into Commodore Cup with a VC :)
What pads would you recommend for street/fun circuit work??

Pete, I think they used to be called the 'Street Performer' package, or similar. It was the 4-piston F & R callipers with 343mm F & 315mm R discs.
The new version is the 'Performance' package, which now has 343mm F & R rotors.
BTW - very impressive these Ultimates.

Unfortunately mate with the power your making and the weight your carrying there is no such beast.
Give Barry Smith Motorsport a call - he will point you in the right direction for the pads.

Spot on Mark I have always run Pagid competition pads in these cars for the very same reasons. Not cheap, but will last the rigours of track use providing you pick the right compound!

The real ' Ultimate ' package mate.
AP Monoblock 6 piston front 4 piston rear with AP rotors.
Pagid pads and an AP floor mounted pedal box to push the fluids.

Are you sure your AP Racing calipers are monoblock ?
Do you have the CP7040 or the more race type CP5555 ?
Not being smart , it's just that i was looking for a big brake kit last year and ended up with the PWR Alcon kit.
It was the only momoblock kit i could find for under $10K
cheers

Stelth - I've seen pics of them and they are definitely what he says they are. I seriously doubt they'd be under $10k though!!!
The AP-Racing 6/4-pot set (HSV OEM) that I've got, retail at around $7-8k. The big solid mutha's on Marks car are superior to those, without doubt.
Cheers,
Macca

Awww back to the only commodore in the class now. Hopefully a ford will be good enough to have a go this year for some more aussie gear on the shootout class
How am I going to get you zooming past me on camera. Might have to wait for a practice day or something.
Oh well back to on my own fighting the imports again

Didnt take long for the finger/hand marks to get on the rims! Atleast they will just rub off with a polishing cloth now :)
Sorry about the glare but the sun was shining straight into the workshop this afternoon

How much did they set you back? (you can PM me if you prefer) I'm looking at getting a set early next month and just wondering if harrop themselves have the best price, or somewhere else...etc
cheers!
