I was just wondering if someone could tell what the power rating limit is on the HTV2300 and any other details
Hi Mate,
have this unit on my VE GTS and is capable of 1000hp...
Email Damian@harrop.com.au for any further info

Care to post your info on the beast. Im keen to know what the new blowers like. I thought it was a screw blower but have since learned its still an eaton style blower just more advanced.

Tully, 1000hp out of a 2.3 litre supercharger?
Tully, 1000hp out of a 2.3 litre supercharger?
Absolutely !
We supplied one of our HTV2300's on a manifold to suit the LS7 and GM Performance USA commissioned TA Engines detroit, Michigan (Brian Thompson) to build a blower-specific LS7 engine. It was wild (not a street-friendly config) with some "very special & secret" components, but still ran the LS7 ECU and on non-race (equiv to our 98 octane) fuel.
It pulled a tad over 1000hp and a torque curve like a table-top.
The engine was then detuned to 800hp & squeezed into a Pontac Solstice (looks a little like an MX3) and has done the USA hot-rod & cruise shows during the past few months.
It is my understanding that the engine is now going to be installed into a new "concept" car for the USA Spring show circuit.
There is a full build article in the Pontiac Enthusiast magazine - Volume 15, Issue 5, Sept/Oct 07. I have it scanned, but it is 17MB.
Also ... Brian Duttwheeler has done 950hp/960ft-lbs from a TVS2300 on a 402ci.

What boost is the blower capable of supporting?
What boost is the blower capable of supporting?
More than most engines :)
I know of a 5.4 Mustang GT500 running a 2300 at >20psi (850rwhp).

So by my calculations (at 100% effciencys) you would have to turn the 2.3 litre HTV to around 18,700 rpm to make that much air (1400 cfm)... in actual fact given drive loss etc it would be closer to 20,000 rpm

Up to 22,000 rpm, and still quite efficent ... but don't just take my word for it, do a google.

Are you guys going to develop a bigger blower then this?
Are you guys going to develop a bigger blower then this?
don't need bigger mate, trust me:). The HH122 is more than capable of handling up to 450rwk. The HTV 2300 is really for bigger engines & strokers and bit of an overkill for street use:dance:

Hey Ken, How fast are the 2300's turning in your standard kit form? I could work it out but easier to ask you! Reason being, the customer of one that I fitted is still looking for more power(He doesn't need it!). Currently making 10-12psi on a 415ci with a very aggresive cam. 25X/25X/108LSA.
Regards.

Eventually ... probably. Nothing currently on the immediate horizon.

That cam is too big on the inlet and LSA too close for an ideal FI installation.
We spin the HTV2300 at 2.64:1 in the standard pre-VE kit.
:)
I wish these were available to bolt up to my LSX 427 with LS7-style 6 bolt heads. All I can do for now is drool over the charts and videos!

Well in the first post Ken mentions an LS7 intake for it.. maybe you should make a phone call :)
I knew that they used one on that Solstice. I had contacted Harrop USA and was told that the LS7 setup had been pushed back. Hopefully, it has not been abandoned now that GM has changed head designs again.
Only other option would be a custom intake like one I have found for a Whipple 3.3. Or a hybrid head design with LS1 or L92 style intake ports. But it is a little late to change the heads.
I will keep making calls until I get something worked out.
It does look like it would require some pretty extreme pulley ratios to get to 1000hp with a 2300. Might not be very practical or reliable. Here is the Duttweiler dyno pull that Ken mentioned. I hear this is a 10" crank pulley.
Not sure what was used on the sideshaft or blower. Apparently my post count will never exceed 8, so copy/paste: http//videos.streetfire.net/video/950-HP-Blown-LSX-DYNO_154043.htm
Don't forget to add the : after http
We are doing a LS7 version, but it will be several months (not weeks) before it is in a production release.

hi ken,
i have a quandry that you might be able to help me with. do you know roughly the flow figures through your intercooler cores? and what kind of psi loss you have through them. i have an interesting idea for a forced induction project and would like to use your maniflod base and intercooler for the project. any help would be greatly appreciated

Howmany LB of boost i would see from the standerd 8rip pully that comes with the kit?
Also what kind of power will put on a forged 5.7L , A4 with a good blower cam and 3"exhaust ?
Cheers.

Before attempting to guess the answer to either question, I would need a lot more detail on your engine & supporting mods.
Please email me via ken@harrop.com.au with a comprehensive engine spec and your objective (street, race, drag etc) and I will offer some thoughts.

Should see that no probs Red Coupe. Mine is pushing nearly 550 RWP on a VE GTS with the HTV and Cam:)

This is a cut and paste of my post in the Walkinshaw Performance thread wasnt sure where it would be better posted.

So Ok its just a size thing then? I mean 112 being 1.8 litres and 122 being 2 litres I would expect that the 2300 would be 2.3 litres? Why would it come on boost later? I mean I thought PD's pretty much just bypassed boost until you mashed it anyway? So if thats right cant it be set up to be spinning at the right revs for instant boost as soon as the bypass closes on Accel?
PS The volume of the 112 and 122 are approx and from memory.
Cheers

These Harrop kits which are suitable for bigger engines such as mine are a very nice piece of work! I am seriously considering one myself! Its a bit pointless starting to turn the tyres at 140+kph in 4th sometimes with the turbo. Very nice work Harrop with these kits :)
What price do the 2300 kits start from?

Interesting thread...
So its not a blower for stock internal motors Ken ?
Also is there much chance on getting engineering/plating on these blowers in the future, as i know the 122's can be.

With a conservative tune and underdriven, they do work well on standard engines ... but they are more expensive than the HH122.
They can be certified/plated with the correct calibration.

I am in possession of a 2300 with a L92 and LS7 intake. It is currently being installed on a World Products Warhawk LS7 427 Headed motor. Compression is set to 10:1. This is going in a 06 GTO here in the states. Anthem Motors in Phoenix, Arizona is doing the install. They do a wide body kit for the GTO which is a duplicate of the Woodward GTO Concept Car allowing you to install 325/30/20's on the rear. I dont normally post here, but will do so when it is completed. They have pictures on their website I have not made enough posts to share the website with you, but if you search under google.com for Anthem Motors in Phoenix Arizona you will find it if interested.
I will check back here to see if any pop up.

If someone buys a HTV2300 to suit a LS1, whats involved to make the blower suit say a L76/L98 402 build later down the track ? I presume one that fits a LS1 wouldn't fit a L76/L98 head ?
Thanks
Dan

The blower will need to be modified to suit the different manifold Dan......mine is soon to be changed to suit LS3 manifold from LS2. Good to see your close to making a decision with the blower mate:goodjob:

397rwkw on a stock Boss 5.4 290 6 speed auto, small HM 1-5/8 headers, ballistic 4" body 2.5" cats and stock factory cat back system on 10psi boost says these new TVS/HTV 2300 blowers seem to do the job nicely.
