Im few days away from purchasing a Z series R8 Maloo (pretty dam excited) and was wondering if any one has experienced any probs...
The first owner has said its making 281rwkw with 4-1's, hi flow cats, twin 2.5" exh, cai and a mafless tune. Does that sound right?
I,ve driven it an seems to go as hard or maybe even better than my cammed VY SS which has 267rwkw.:confused:

Cheers

I've had 2 VZ R8 Maloo's (First one found a traffic light, Dammit!)

I had to put air bags in the rear end, due to irregular tyre wear when towing, I drove to QLD from ACT with a trailer and a couple of bikes, I came back needing two new rear tyres. Air bags and some lower springs in the rear fixed the problem straight away.

Don't purchase cheap tyres, go with the Factory Avons, I am replacing the 1st set on my 06 Maloo at 24,000kms, very happy with them.

Sounds like a nice car you getting.

Hi there,

If this is a manuel it certainly is possible as we have had a few ls2's come thru making those numbers with those mods,we did a auto one the other day that pulled 267rwkw's.

:)

regards sonny

Ps: make sure you get a pre-purchase inspection as we have had a few customers buy repairable write off lemons that have been cut n shut.

am buying it off a bloke i went to school with so im hoping its all legit. its only got 21k on clock an is still under warranty with full service history.
with a head an cam package what numbers would be expected at the rears with a cam in the 220's an a set of decent flowing heads considering the rwkw it has now??

thanks

With a manuel, and the right camshaft it will defnatly venture over 300rwkw and still retain manners, the last z series clubby we did made 318rwkw,thats with out heads, there will be abit more in it with heads defantly,i,m doing one in a few weeks, the target it 340rwkws and retaining manners as its a dailey driver.

picked up my black Maloo today and am very impressed. power is great (for now), ride is very smooth although quite low, braking is top notch and the exhaust note from the mafless LS2 is superb. overall a very happy man, missus thinks its pretty cool to. cant wait to go cruising on weekend:eyes::eyes:
