Question on Hid Lights

OK Guys,

Hid's... I know someone here as them on a navara? or Patrol?

Anyhow how robust are HID lights? I mean on a 4*4 or better still my Captiva Maxx (which I take off road) are the Hid lights robust enough??

As long as the Ballasts are mounted and don't bounce around and potentially break, they are like any other light..

I love my HID's - best mod to my SSV i think..

Had HID's in my ute for a while now and do gravel and rough roads reasonably regularly, seem to be holding up OK. Still get people flashing me occasionally though as I only have reflector headlights and they dont focus as well as projectors.

Search for HID's Craig, has been a few threads about them already, even bulk buys.

ones already sold as spotlights cost an absolute fortune, better to buy an aftermarket kit and fit them to standard spotties.....$200-250 versus about $1500

Excessv... Thanks I also am sure I have seen you driving arround in ur car... if so it looks sweet as!

No not installing spots as yet just upgrading the lights...

but noticed on the cappie that the lights have a "condom" that the globe sits into... I guess it helps direct the light? the light sockets are round about 10CM round and there is the standoff that the globe sits inside but the bottom half of it is open... I guess this helps focus the light... I cant upload pictures or I would show you what I mean.
