Hey guys.

Just wondering what people have paid for there 15,000km service threw Holden. My car is booked in for the service next week and was given a price of $265.Not sure if this is steep or not.

Just curious as to what people have paid.
Tried to use the search button, but nothing came up.

Cheers

My 15,000 is probably due in the next month or so. I've been getting oil and filter every 5k or so and get charged $99.00 a time.

$250.00 for some oil and a quick kick of the tyres is a bit rude though.

Mine was $180.

I provided the oil and i PRESUME they used it.

Not always. Sometimes they say it is done but is not. I have caught them out about 4 times. All different dealerships and watch them doing it in the dealerships i have worked for as well. Some people just don't care or take the filter's home and make money on the side..

They get serviced less these days, but cost us more.

I suppose the less we take them there, the better it is.

Yeah, they go over the car to make sure everything is working ok and to address any issues you may of noticed within the first 3000ks.

You're lucky it's not a 15000 HSV service.
Over $415 quoted for my cars first service.
Needless to say it didn't go to the dealership for the service.

We must get ripped off here in Perth! My SS cost over $300 for the 15k service.

I was quoted $348 for the 15000km service on mine.

I can understand that different dealers may have different prices because of different hourly rates, but they should be relativley close due to the time that Holden allow for in the service eg:

15,000km Service
Oil Change 1.5hr
Filter 0.5hr
(time is a guess as my book is at work)

Otherwise the parts should be close as they should be using genuine..

I can't work it out.. Either way I have gone to a private mechanic as the dealership took too long to get back to me..

I was quoted "around $300" by my dealer and then charged $305 dollars when I picked it up. Only paid $244 though thanks to the HSV Club discount.

It will be the last service a Holden dealer does on my car and only went there because there were a few little things I wanted fixed under warranty too.

They (Holden) have me by my short and curlys as i have the extended 3 year warranty. If i take the car anywhere else it gets void.

That's just bullshit they tell you to try and get you to keep coming back.

No warranty is voidable just because you don't get the dealer to do the work.

I understand that the first 3 years is not void, but im talking about the extra 3 years they gave me.

Some of the extended warranties are provided by a third party company and a lot of dealers use them.

If you had it serviced at a different place that offered the same extended warranty product it would be hard for the Warranty company to argue that the other place couldn't service your car.

In saying that I have read some 3 party warranties that get pretty specific in their clauses..

My dealer always throws in an extended warranty for 3 years free of charge but it is conditional on you using them for all servicing and also is non transferrable. I must admit I have not gone into the fine detail as before this one I haven't kept any of their cars for more than two years but it wouldn't surprise me if that condition was enforceable.

The only reason they throw it in is to entice people to continue servicing their cars there so I assume that condition would be enforceable.
