Hi All,
Not sure if it has already been posted but here it is anyway.
To reset the engine oil life reading you just need to do the following..
turn ignition on
cycle accelerator pedal down to WOT then release three times
turn key off.
Thats it.

YOur computer will tell you when to change the oil, so everytime you start it up, it will tell you via the dash. If you change the oil yourself, then you need to tell the car so it doesn't keep reminding you, so thats when it should be done. If you get your car serviced else where, then they will reset it for you. Hope that answers your question :)

I don't want this to sound the wrong way, I may be a good idea to look in the vehicle owners manual. Some of the stuff may be useful.
Cheers,
Steve:)

Seeing as the engine oil life reminder isn't covered in the manual (because it's in the 'Engineering Mode' that you aren't supposed to know about), I doubt that the manual covers how to reset it!

Seems strange! Have 2 GM products with oil reset light, both are covered in the manual. Wifes Honda, has a bunch of bizarre stuff covered in the manual, like programming the automatic door locks and which doors. Asks for a bunch of weird stuff to do this. Must play with different switches.
GM's are easy, works with the trip odometer reset. hold down for 15 seconds.
Cheers,
Steve
In Australia the oil life monitor function is not enabled, but for some reason the warning keeps on coming up. I am sure a lot of people get worried when it comes up. I don't know why it is not enabled as in the US it is a standard feature.

My folks have a couple of GM vehicles that give the oil life read out expressed as a percentage. Works in conjunction with vehicle computer.
My GM's do not have the same luxury, guess I should have spent more money.
LOL! I just got a light bulb!
Cheers,
Steve

Well it is enabled, it's just not easily accessible. But if you start the car in Engineering Mode then you can see the oil life reminder and much more.
This is not to be confused with the 'service due' reminder, which the manual does cover.

I tried this today after an oil change on my VE SS but it still shows Engine Oil Life as 0% under the Engineering Mode.
Has anyone else tried this and does it work OK?
Thanks
