Was a great day had by all with some good time and plenty learnt. Here is a bit of a run down on how our cars did.

First up Rob’s VE which was running in BOSS class. Mods were limited to diff gears, exhaust, intake and tune. Was ultra consistent all day with 12.6’s, which while it may not have set any records, is still impressive for such a heavy weight.

Following the tragic passing of Lyle Lemon the owner of TTLS1, his family approached Rob and requested that he drive the car at the Nats. As a tribute to Lyle, HPF installed a passenger seat and took his wife Cheree for a full power 9.6 second pass.

The car was up and down all day with several breakages slowing progress, after the faulty sensor, spark plugs and broken driveshafts were replaced times dropped. Rob managed to run the car to a best of 9.35 seconds which was enough to claim equal second place in the renegade class.

The Ford class ended up being fought out between two HPF entered cars. HPF’s XR8 ute ended up taking the cake with more consistent passes even though in the final the twin turbo GT ran a 11.71 second pass over the XR8’s 12.127.

Congratulations should also be given to our valued customers who ran their cars on the day with some excellent achievements.

Mick's with his HPF Twin Turbo HOTGEN ran a 12.6 second pass on his first even run, and continued to improve on those times as the day progressed.

Tim Holmyard continued to impress with a personal best of 8.87 @ 160mph in his HPF tuned, NOS fed VX.

Matt with his HPF Tuned BLN355 VK reeled off several high 10 second passes with a best of 10.63 @ 137mph.

Tim in his HPF prepped turbo ute ran a 10.5 @ 137mph before a driveline breakage ended his day early.

Hey Guys, Awsome pics well done.
1 small comment a bit of topic. Myth busters did the ute tail gate on/off,cargo net test.
Turned out Tail gate up returned the best fuel econemy.
Thus im thinkin less drag.
When I run mine, Tail gate on and up.
Yer, dos'nt sound quite right, but saw it on the show and they are quite perticular.:)
Any body else have any hard facts?

Without intent to blow smoke up your arse ... the HPF cars were nothing short of impressive to watch all day.

Having read so much about Tim's red VX ... seeing it perform in person put it all into perspective. :bravo: Fast and seemingly effortless.

Between the HPF cars, HSV-105's GTO  and the wheel standing Transam ... the highlights of my weekend.

Well done to all at HPF, there is a lot of work involved in the preperation of all those cars.

Thanks Heaps to all the Guys at HP-F, the tune on the VK worked a treat and helped the VK run a 10 sec pass first time down the strip with the new combo and only 11psi of boost on board. With some more boost and the transbrake connected up i hope to be in the 9's very soon.

And congratulations on the times you guys ran with your cars and cutomer cars. top stuff for sure.

How bout the weight factor of removing the tailgate as well big fella could be a consideration.

Thanks mate,

It runs a Diff Technics IRS 9" with BMR Axles.

The weight was a big consideration, hence the hard lid, tailgate, passenger seat, console etc has all been removed.
