I would imagine a gentle cleanser and a soft bristle brush.
I use Zymol products on my leather and it always comes up nice.
It might be worth dropping a PM to Little Lord - he should be quite savvy in the field of fake tan.....

I have the same problem on my black leather seats... mostly from my sister... I make her bring a towel with her all the time now. Pain in the ass!

Hahahhahaaa...man, from the thread title I thought you were "tanning" your leather seats! I was hoping there was going to be pictures...a nice orange tint to your front seats or something...

The fake tan has probably migrated into the finish on the leather.... best of luck trying to get it out seeing as it's been there a long time..... I personally wouldn't think you have a hope in hell.

sounds like some nasty shit, luckily my girlfriend isnt into the whole fake tan shit, my sister is however, that is why she in not allowed in my SS! :) haha
good luck getting it out mate, if it been there for a while it may have stained the leather, which means no good news for your seats :(

I know when my beautiful wife gets her fake tan onto our beautiful white leather couch, she uses the swispers face wipes, that they use to remove make up from their faces, has alcohol or something in ti that removes it from the leather...give those a try, you can get it from the supermarket....there also great for wiping your backside after eating a dodgy Vindaloo from the night before.

I have asked on Detail Addiction forum for you and anybody else who needs to know. Will be interesting to see if any of the many experts on there have an answer.

Reply from a detailer on Detail Addiction forums:
"I would try some lexol if that didnt work i would go GPC then if that didnt work i would go GPC with a magic eraser. Thats harsh though, ive seen pics where its done some real damage. Ive never had to go that agressive before. Ive used the magic eraser on stains with lexol and got good results." I wanted to be 100% sure what GPC was, so asked and the reply from the same person was: "General Purpose cleaner. Final Inspection sells an awesome one! The thing i saw where it did damage wasnt the FI brand though."
Damian's comments (Final Inspection owner) on all that were:
"Lexol pH
Very gentle, it'll definatley remove anythign on the seats, but may take a LONG time.
GPC
Stronger, not recommended repeatedly in high doses to clean leather but great for a more aggressive cleaner when needed.
Magic Eraser Bars
Only for pen marks etc. and I HIGHLY recommend against them. They contain both strong solvents & some contain microabrasives. 1 company has had to change labelling as someone had become sick after using the eraser on a benchtop, then cutting food on it, the solvents contaminated the food. In testing we found it stripped the colour from the leather and left the leather extremely dry, stripping moisture much more aggressively than any other method of cleaning.
With leather, slow cleaning is always the way to go, Maintaing Leather is all about prevention, once leather is dried it will never be repaired. It's not like Paintwork, it must be preserved regularly, it can't be returned to it's natural soft, supple feel once it's stripped.
Other then also added comments about not using Magic Eraser Bars (probably only OK in the hands of an experienced expert used very carefully).

If you want it off go directly to the man (Damian at Final Inspection in Brunswick - not all that far from you) and see what he says. He will have all the necessary stuff and as long as he isn't flat out will probably show you how to do it on a small part. Tell him Wonky sent you. :D
been a long time but i started to notice latley that the paint i reprayed them with can peel off very easily in the heat. so looks like im gonna have to do it again

If you do end up going to see Damian at Final Inspection he is no longer where he was in Brunswick. Now in Campbellfield, off Barry Rd.
