I am in the market for a set of drag radials. Was hoping you pros could help me out with the following

VY UTE for drag radial setup

Min wheel diameter e.g. 15"?

Max tyre width without tubbing?

Max tyre height?

These are the questions Hoosier are asking me. I thought it strange they wouldnt know?

You can plain tell me what to get if you like, open to suggestions

TIA Boyley

I not long fitted a set of 235x60x15 MT radials to 15x7 chasers. My ute is lowered but not much and i had problems last week with one of the wheels rubbing quite badly on the drivers side during the run. It could just be my car as others haven't had any problems with this rim/tyre combo. Getting the guards rolled soon so that will fix this issue.

Um 235 /60/15.
Not much room on a vy 15 by 8.5 or 15 by 9 may fit depends how low it is,i managed to fit 15 by 10s on chaser rims, but the gaurds were rolled and pumped a fare bit.225 is the general size that will fit standard.:)

By the diameter I mean the height of the tyre, apparently this is a variable. Hoosier have a plethora of tyres to suit a 15 inch rim. I may have to put fe2 springs back in

FE2 ..wise move :yup:......as per above..MT DR 235x60xR15...or MT3752R as its more commonly known by when ordering......will outperform any of the Hoosier range on an A4 Launch in my limited experince :)

Aparently there are no Mickey T's in aus and there is a huge problem in the us with the manufature, they're talking months. I'm going Hoosier as no-one has recommended anything else.

No idea mate I ran a 13.2 last time out on streets.

Since then I have instaleld a 3.46 diff 80mm throttle body and tweaked my tune.

I hope to run a 12.?

Actually the MT DR's at that level would have acted as a handbrake due to full 26" diameter .....even more so given the 3.46 diff ratio....I suggest you look closely at RE55's / Nittos or Toyo Semi Comp rubber ...all 3 good for low low 12's :)

Nope......all three semi comps in question are 17"...the Nitto for example 245x45x17....its this same tyre that taken the big Caprice ( BBB2 ) to 11.8 on several occasions and seen a 1.5 sixty footer on the SV8.......combined with highstall should knock an easy 1/2 second off your current best imo
