View Full Version : Rattling front pads VE Clubsport 2007
I Hav a VE 2007 Clubsport have just had the disc pads replaced and the front well is rattling the dealer has told me this is a common problem and I just have to live with it.
I replied what a load of S**T that as I gave them the car with no problems or rattles I expected it back in the same condition.
Has anyboby else heard of this problem.
New user of this site would appreciate your help.

Well I dont know the solution but I do know that i have the same issue. Knocking noise when going over sharp bumps, but when i have foot on the brake pedal and go over the same bumps, hey presto.....no noise. Very frustrating and embarrassing. Seems to me that this has been a fault of GMH for years because i had the same probles in my VX II SS, VY II SS and now the Clubbie. Had it in to HSV at Springwood, they said nothing wrong.... ho hum.

I think mine has done that in the past but it is very inconsistent ... how do we replicate it to show the dealer? I think you might be right about going over bumps without the brakes on.

To be honest I am not sure what to do. Over the years i have been to 3 or 4 dealers and hve had the same response from all. It is just frustrating given my 65K clubbie makes tinnie cheap sounding noises that my partners Camry and Mazda 6 don't... I have read some other thread that suggests that this noise could also be the sway bar and bushes that link it to the suspension... I have spoken about these to the dealer and always get the car back the same...

Call HSV direct and ask them about it. Go to another dealer.
I am sure you will find the answers there. Please let us know ...

Yep, it's frustrating... My SSV was doing it brand new... Took it back and they put some adhesive crap on the back of the pad?!?!? Worked for a couple of days then back again... I just live with it now...
