Has anyone found their pacemakers to be rusty looking around where the 4 pipes join to the collector.

i had them sent back to pacemaker via the forum sponsor i purchased them from and this is the written reply i got from pacemaker

- TEST ON BOTH SIDES WERE CARRIED OUT

- RESULTS ON BOTH SIDES OF HEADERS CAME UP NEGATIVE FOR LEAKS

- THE RUST STAINS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE HEADERS ARE A RESULT FROM DRIVING ON WET SURFACES

- THE 4 PIPES AT THE BASE OF THE HEADERS HAVE COLLECTED WATER WHILST TRAVELING ON ROAD SURFACES AND WHEN THE VEHICLE STOPS THE WATER AND MOISTURE LEAKS DOWN THE PIPES

- IF THE HEADERS WERE LEAKING THERE WOULD BE BLACK SOOTY STAINS, NOT RUSTY BROWN

WTF how can they dribble this shit, how cam moisture not evaporate of the headers ( my car does approx 300/500k per single trip, no 5 min trips to milk bar)

how can an coating made of ceramic/aluminium rust? bad batch? not a thorough coating on poorley prepared surface?

any suggestion as to why and what i should do now to rectify this bullshit?

cheers

DEF NOT HPC coated.

The letter i got back from Pacemaker is South Aus had two logo's 1 being Pacemaker and the other being "CERAMIC COAT AUSRALIA" it must be their tight arse version/imitation of HPC. ive had HPC coated pacie's for the last 10 years or so, with one on them on a 1966 mustang that did no more than 3000k's a year without a blemish on them.

i guess if they just tested the headers for leaks and re did the coating i wouldnt be bitchin, but when the headers were apart of a $3500 custom system and they stain all rusty after 12 months its JUST NOT BLOODY GOOD ENOUGH IN MY BOOK.

Someone has gotta pay for the re coat of my headers.

From memory they charge about 300.00 on top of the price of pipes for HPC coating the exhaust place that fitted your system should of told you this as the blue coating they have on them from new does not last long you can still get them done if you have them out
