Hi all just a question about fuel. I used to run vpower in my vu ss which had quite a bit off work done to exhaust and computer. It ran fine without pinging etc. But since i have bought the ve ssv i dont know if im that happy with the shell vpower fuel. Any thoughts?

Many people on here find Shell petrol in general to be pretty crappy. I'd give BP Ultimate a go for a few tanks and see if there is any difference. People like Swingtan whose opinion I respect swear by V-Power Racing but too expensive for me given it will possibly result in reduced fuel economy due to the ethanol.

I had to fill up today so based on what someone on here said in my "What's BP Playing At" thread I went to a Shell station first to see if it was still cheaper than normal V-Power. Of course, knowing my luck it wasn't so I drove to the BP just down the road a bit from there and filled up with Ultimate for 10c per litre less.

Do you notice any difference in shell to bp ? If so what? Cheers.

Yeah Vortex 98 seemed to be the most consistent fuel when we were mucking around with highly modified WRX sti's. Mind you Shell is the only one out there with 100 run fuel in Vpower Racing but its not available everywhere.

I changed so long ago (about 2 cars and 3 years ago) that I can't remember specifically but the car felt to run better. I did try the V-Power Racing for a few tanks about 6 months ago and the car really went well on it but I didn't seem to quite get the same mileage and it was too expensive to justify.

The vpower racing does have more punch but at the price its at can hardly afford it. So you recomend bp ultimate in the ve's?

It seems to give good consistent results. It's what Chev recommends people use for dyno runs there if you don't already have something you are happy with.
