Im looking at buying a set of ve super sport 20' wheels to go on my vy ute but the wheels have 245 tyres. Can anybody tell me if they will fit? or if i will have to put 225 size tyres on them. reason i ask is most vy/vz's with 20' wheels all seem to have 225's on them. Im prepared to roll the guards if the 245's will fit but just needs guard rolling.
Thanks in advance.

Tim the rears should fit no probs only thing that id be worried about is them hitting the struts up front.

I have 19 x 245's 9 inch rears rim and 8 inch front rim. ( On VX Monaro) Just had rear guards to roll. How wide are the actual rims? Gromms is right, your struts will be a problem. Go 19's if you want less hassles.

Do you mean the standard VE tyres are on these wheels - 245/35/20? If so then you are up for some work. I've got these on a VY Monaro and to make them fit you will need to either get front coil overs or do what I did and get GTS struts. Roll the guards, cut the rear bar, cut the inside edges of the guards where the tyre fouls under lock.
If you want it all to work with a pile less effort then get some 225/30/20's.
But the 35 profiles look great. Someone know how to calibrate a VY speedo? 35 profiles will put your speedo way out.

im pretty sure the studs are different to the vys as well. think the ve is 14mm vs 12mm for previous cars !
they will probably need some sort of spacer turned up

as most ppl have said ve and vy different stud patterns but an automotive machinest can alter that unsure who u would need to talk to bout it... the 245s will fit in rear with rolling of the guards or very bad camber... as for the front i am 99% positive they will rub on the strut which isnt really good lol hope that helps mate

Cheers for the info guys! Im aware of the different stud patterns any tyre joint can get that done for me. i was more concerned about the fronts. GMSLAVE iv been told that you can get vz struts that will fit aswell. What did a set of the gts struts set you back? Im starting to think it might be less effort just to put 225's on. Im buying the wheels off a mate though so would be a hassle to swap the tyres aswell then also try and sell the old tyres. So either way its going to be a pain in the butt!

Buy 2 x 225s for the front and keep the spare 245s for when you wear the rears out:thumbsup:

The VY GTS struts were surprisingly cheap, can't find the docket but from memory $3-400 range. As the lower spring retainer is higher you will need shorter coils, plus fitting and align. The hardest bit was finding the correct part number, we somehow started with the part number for Coupe 4 struts but worked out after a while the right part. Pedders springs and its a bit of a firm ride now.

Cheers thanks for that. Iv decided to swap the 225's thats my mates getting on his new wheels over to the supersport20's and hes taking the 245's so im hoping that they should fit on now with maybe only rear guard rolling needed. The wheels go on tuesday so i guess ill find out! lol

VY Storm, that's probably a good idea especially if you want to lower your car, my tyres clear the guards but do touch the inner splash guards - not a lot you can do about that problem, I'm not about to raise the car to fix the problem :)

I ended up going 225's and iv got no rubbing at all apart from a little bit on the inner splash guard but even then it only just touches it. i would have liked to have the 245's but it was alot less mucking around going for the 225's!
