does anyone have or has used a xforce 3" twin system on there ls1?

i have a vx r8, and used a 2.5" xforce but it droned a fair bit, so now i have difillipo 1 7/8 headers, and wanting a twin 3" system to finnish it off. i have seen some xforce units rather cheap but want ppl thoughts on the system 1st.

does it drone, crackle with engine braking (down shifting), loud quite etc.

any help is good thanks

The DiFilippo twin 3" doesn't drone and the full system sounds ballsy - you won't need to delete the rear resonator for good sound. I know what my choice would be - you've had one system from X-Force that you didn't like, why go again?

Cheers,

Macca

thats true macca, but at the same time im not willing to spend over $2000 for a system, it seems excessive to me and i dont know how outlets can charge so much. so i am looking for cheaper alternatives, is there any suggestions?

Difillipo is way overpriced, the cop who defected me asked what I paid for my system then told me he was quoted around 4k for a full difillipo system lol

Nah, sorry mate, no answers from me. I have the D/F twin 3" - it cost $1800 for the cat-back, pricey, yes, but it bolted up perfectly and does the job extremely well.

Pillow - the old adage you get what you pay for applies though. Plenty on here have had more than one system on their car and changed due to drone, etc and in the end it ends up costing just as much as it would have for the moore expensive, quality option at the outset. It is up to the individual which way they go in the end.

Good luck with it.

Cheers

Slightly off topic but still about the X Force 3"

Is there different levels of systems, eg quite or loud etc.

Looking around at the moment for a twin 3" and the X force keeps popping it head up and I just havent had a chance to find out.

On VEs at least many guys have found that adding a cam increases drone.

I have one on my camed LS1 and it is loud but has no drone at all
and it does crackle and pop on down shift
I had it on before the cam and it was the same but not as loud
you wont want to remove the rear resy as it will be to loud
I am currently looking to get a bigger rear muffler to quieten it down a bit
all these threads about defects and epa notices are getting me worried
and it is very loud which I dont mined I just done want to get done for noise
and have to take the cam and other gear out

I have the twin 3" xforce system on my R8, with pacey tri y's & opened cats. I have only had positive comments about the sound it makes which leaves people askign whats done to it(which is stock;))

Yeah, they are an awesome sounding system mate, definetely get one! Will sound tough as with an M6, but my car is automagic with a 3600rpm stall and it still sounds tough as. I have 3.9's and doing 100kph with the front windows down and sunroof open you still can't hear it. They sound really good on idle, you can actually hear the car unlike a twin 2.5" system and they sound awesome when you give it a gut full.

You will especially appreciate it once you put your cam in. I'll post some sound files of mine when it is finally done.

Jason.

I have Twin 3 " Xforce Full s/s system with 1 3/4" Xforce Headers and 3" S/S Xforce cats.

Yes it is quite loud compaired to the avg Twin 3" that i have seen. It does crackle when you change down gears .. More so in the lower gears ( 1 - 3 ) and as for the drone its actually Very little when cruising on the highway or in the 1200 - 1500 rpm range in general.

I guess its preference i really love the sound of the crackle as u drop it 2 gears backwards.
