You mean the plastic bit to fill the hole in the bumper bar or the an insert to go into the tow tube?

The plastic bit, Holden from memory it was about $20ish with the retaining clips. The come unpainted so if that part of your bumper bar is painted then you will need to get handy with the spray can.

The tow bar plug bits, any 4wd store

Anyone know the part number??

As far as I know there is no part for this application. I tried a couple
of times to get this part from Holden and was told both times that
it does not exist.

You can get them for most VX, VY and VZ models.
You can't get them for VT, VE or any HSV versions.
There are several part numbers. Requests for part numbers would be best posted in the part numbers thread.

How about you just post the part number in the part numbers thread,
problem solved. That is what I would do if I was a parts man, pretty
simple really.

I don't appear to be at work on a Sunday.
People look for part numbers in the "Part Numbers Thread", and that's where the mods steer these sorts of questions. Seems a pretty simple theory to me....

I didnt want to start a new thread asking for the number or go through 80 pages in the parts thread to find it (wich i had a look at but gave up).

On VTs they were just cut out prior to fitting the tow ball, but on a VX there is a cover with a couple of scrivets holding it in. Should be able to find one pretty easily at your nearest dealer, provided they're not obsolete yet..

You had to start this thread remember, which is exactly what you would have done in that thread...

Just to help you and everyone else search for things in those 80 pages, you open up the part numbers thread, then just above the first post of any page of that thread is a little blue box titled "search this thread". Click on it, type in a fairly obvious search word (like "towbar" in this case), and see if any matches come up.
In the case of this one, there are a couple of answers to some of the models already, of which yours would add more for everyones future benefit, not just one or two right now! :teach:

Why not just go to a Towbar INstaller, they have probably got heaps of them 'kicking around' the workshop. Probably get it for free too.
