LS1 Lifter recomendations?
HI guys i am just changing the hydraulic lifters in my ls1, just wondering if you guys have any reccomendations on whats the best? i was looking at GM performance lifters cause apparently they are a new design with minimal pump up at high rpm?
Re: LS1 Lifter recomendations?
allot of people including me are using the LS7 lifters
Re: LS1 Lifter recomendations?
oh ok? what did that set you back?
Re: LS1 Lifter recomendations?
i put a set of aftermarket standard replacement lifters in mine last week... its rather quiet and showing no problems with 7200+rpm these are also the lifters i believe vcm performance use as they kindly put me onto them
around $350 per set and readilly available
Re: LS1 Lifter recomendations?
If you want some really good lifters go for Moral Hyd Link Bars.

Re: LS1 Lifter recomendations?
A bit of research.
from Morel amarketing blurb. sounds good.
Morel lifters are unlike any lifters you've ever seen before. The lifter body is fully machined from alloy steel bar stock, not a casting like OEM lifters.
The nose wheel is machined from 8620 material and case hardened for durability.
Morel's proprietary hydraulic valving is designed for sustained high rpm levels commonly seen in performance applications.

Best hyro lifter i have ever used-
Most of the aftermarket ls lifters come from morel apart from the new range of comp cams link bar lifters-

Dont mean to hi-jack the thread, but I am about to undergo the same task. I was looking to put in LS7 lifters / LS2 trays and was wondering if there is anything else we should be doing while the heads are off?
Should we be cleaning the piston tops, valves, etc?

where do you get the ls2 lifter tray? i been looking but i cant find them? do you have the part number?
With the pistons and valves i just gave them a little bit of a clean, not like its going to make a big difference or anything.

texas speed have them (im thinking while the heads are off I may as well do a cam :smilesandbanana:) check their site (not sure if I'm aloud to link to them as they are not a sponsor but the details are itemid=87&catid=36 or #28-12595365 you will need 4 of them) or alternatively im sure a sponsor could point you in the right direction.
With regards to cleaning.... Im a perfectionist.... I like to know its all clean in there... haha...
