Fpv 335 GT/F6 = LS1.... What's required??
Last time I went to wsid, I ran 13.5 in my VT2 LS1 auto, fitted with full exhaust, maffless tune, OTR and on baldy 225 tyres.. No other mods. It was 39 degrees as well just before xmas. 60ft times were around the 2.1 mark, bit under, some over.. Slow.
Next to me same night a fpv GT335 auto ran a best of 13.03 with most runs in the 13.3s, so I was close even then..
Since my last outing, I've fitted a ls6 manifold (previous was ls1 manifold) and injectors, fitted a 3.46 differential ratio from a m6 ss vx and a ported throttle body. Also had the car retuned. The car feels a fair bit more potent..
With my new round of mods, some better tyres and cooler weather I'd be hoping to go at least a flat 13 or dip into the 12s.
Is this enough to keep a fpv f6 or fpv GT335 honest? A pretty equal run?

Coupla small mods & driving skills reckon you'll have no probs getting over the FPV Cab!!
Re: Fpv 335 GT/F6 = LS1.... What's required??
The GT would have been suffering some serious heat soak in that weather, i would expect a GT on the dual timing beacons to run 12.5-13.0 sec quarter on a decent night. Half a second is a bloody lot in 400m, i reckon you'll get a flat 13 or very high 12's at best with your mods. It'll give them a little fright but then again, they are driving a stock car vs your reasonably modified one.
Re: Fpv 335 GT/F6 = LS1.... What's required??
Sounds like a nice ride, congrats.
By way of comparison, for what it is worth, my 335 gt ran 12.5 at 114 in 32 degree heat with a 2.0 sixty foot.
Best I got out of my stock LS3 senator was 13.1 at 105 with same 60 footer at ls1 Nast a couple of years ago and that was a great time for the car.
It was completely stock and exactly the way I drive it every day.
Whilst your on the right track with mods, I don't think you are there yet.
Forget about the fraud and enjoy your pride and joy.
Re: Fpv 335 GT/F6 = LS1.... What's required??
Gee the GT must of been having a bad day. As Bouka mentioned. A GT will spit out 12.5's all day like having a shit, STOCK!.
Re: Fpv 335 GT/F6 = LS1.... What's required??
Heat soak for sure.
Whilst you're hoping the cooler weather will help you get in to the 12's, it's probably only good for a couple of tenths in NA form. With the boosted motor, it will pull half a second off those times without any problems at all.
As said, I would just enjoy your own ride and worry about your own PB's. There's always somebody faster and it doesn't take much tinkering to get the boosted fords to really hand it to a bolt on LS combo.

Dead stock I ran 12.6 @ 112mp/h when my car was new. I ran it at heathcote 3 weeks ago on cheap tyre factory rubber tune only and managed 11.8 @ 121mp/h with a 1.77 60ft.

Spends big money and effort on go fast mods. Uses bald 225's and wonders why he's slow. Invest in decent tyres for the strip. They will do wonders.

Gotta be stoked with 11.8 tune only

Absolutely, with decent rubber 11.5 - 11.6 is a possibility.

don't forget that there running boost, where yours is sucking they have the boost getting forced in. if you both have 400hp the boost will normally always win
Re: Fpv 335 GT/F6 = LS1.... What's required??
I thought that 400hp is 400hp, regardless of induction method used....

When it comes to N/A vs forced induction it's not the same. A N/A motor will make its peak torque at about 4500 rpm, where as a boosted motor will make its peak torque between 1900- 2800 rpm therefore giving you much faster accelaration, and overall a much quicker car.

Pfft. Only if torque limiting is applied. If its that low and not limited, your under boosted.
