My Calais finally gets it's cam
Put the big fat Calais into Enhanced Automotive today to finally get the VCM21 cam and dod delete installed. Have had all the parts in the shed since xmas, but travel for work kept getting in the way. Brad has also recommended getting the heads skimmed while they are off. Car made 248.5 on his Mainline with all the bolt ons, so hoping for 270-280. Car is A6.
Also getting some decent Brembo brakes fitted, so should be massive improvement all round hopefully :)

Ended up making 293.8, and drives real nice. Bit of lump to the idle but nothing over the top, just what I wanted :)
Re: My Calais finally gets it's cam
Great result, I just got 290 on that dyno with a M6 years back
Whats all the specs.

bump in compression helps heaps.
Sounds like a good combo without need a stall.

That's a very decent increase & great torque too, A6 using the stock stall?
Re: My Calais finally gets it's cam
Do you know much they took off the heads?

Will check with Brad and get back to you mate. I do recall him saying more than usual and could not go any further with them without other mods.

Don't go to any trouble, I was just asking out of idle curiosity.

Re: My Calais finally gets it's cam
I need some advice please people. Can anyone who has done an l76 DOD Delete tell me what PCV setup they have once the new valley plate goes on? From what I can gather, once the new valley plate is installed the motor is essentially an L98? I still have the old PCV in place with the pipe going from passenger rocker cover to the front of the drivers side intake manifold. The port on the new valley plate is capped. Now looking at the GM Motorsport website, it would seem that they sell a small pipe to connect the valley plate to the intake manifold and a cap for the rocker cover. Do I need to covert this? Reason I ask, is that with the old PCV piping in place the motor has been blowing large amounts of smoke out the exhaust, when I remove the pipe the smoke stops and everything is normal again.
