Exhaust, lowering, cam, and OTR CAI coming soon
I've been busy reading multiple opinions about all of the above and will be keen to get it how I want it.

Thanks for the welcome.
Yes I will enjoy driving it every chance i get. I do have a little LS3 side project going into an LX Torana, so she doesn't have both legs in the pants
Re: First post VF 2 SSV Redline ute
Actually, I've read so much on which brand exhaust and what size, I've confused myself.
I do like what I read about the Sureflo complete systems, they recommend 3 inch, but I'm open to suggestions.
Re: First post VF 2 SSV Redline ute
Plenty of choice on exhaust systems....try and listen to different systems on cars as everyone has different taste in exhaust notes.
I would suggest 1&7/8" headers with hi flo cats and 3" cat back.....
Re: First post VF 2 SSV Redline ute
As John said, the only way to be sure is ride in and listen from the outside to systems you're potentially interested in. That's not always practical of course but if you stick with the well regarded (and expensive) systems like DF and Exhaust Technology KPM (not SLC KPM) you're pretty sure to be satisfied.
As for headers, I had 1 3/4 on my SSV sedan with 3" KPM system and on my SSV ute I had the same but 1 7/8 for sound. The ute sounded slightly better and had similar power with otherwise very similar mods.
However, John at Streetquick Performance in WA has done lots of testing at the strip and even on blown and h/c cars finds 1 3/4 are consistently quicker.
Re: First post VF 2 SSV Redline ute
Great advice Gaz, reckon I will go for the 1 3/4 pipes as I don't see my LS3 being heavily modded in the future.
Re: First post VF 2 SSV Redline ute
another vote for 1 7/8 for the 6.2. save your self $ later on when the mods list grows and grows and grows :)

Re: First post VF 2 SSV Redline ute
Well I only have myself to blame
Took the ute to the muffler shop I've used for 20 years, and I let the shop and my tuner talk me into a 2.5 cat back.
Muffler shop did a nice job and fitted a Xforce setup....but.........it's no louder than the stock bimodal system.
Yes it's less restricted and has a nicer note, but My inner hoon can't hide his disappointment.

Give it more time to carbon up. It will get louder and deeper within the next month or so...depending on how much you drive it

Not another disappointed customer of brand X...
I'd take it back, if its only a day or 2 old and get a refund, if your so unhappy with it...
Call DF direct, order a twin 3 inch system over the phone, it'll be on your door step in 3 - 4 days.
Install it yourself, easy with car jack and jack stands.
Job done.
BTW nice ride...

Are you kidding? people complain that X force are too loud and obnoxious and he says that a 2.5" is too quite. How is that "another disappointed customer of brand X". Are you saying a 3" x force wont be loud enough still so he needs to get a DF? stop with the pointless brand bashing jesus....
