2017 VFII Commodores Final Editions
Here they come..the Director, Motorsport and Commemorative editions due next year
Come late 2017, Holden manufacturing will fall silent for good, as the 2017 Holden VF Commodore Series II officially exits production. However, Holden has a few things up its sleeve to send the Aussie motoring icon out on a high note, as we have learned the 2017 VF Series II will feature not one, not two but three special editions to end local production.
The special editions will include a new Director edition, Motorsport edition and Commemorative edition.
Commodore Director Edition
The Director will revive a controversial nameplate from Holden and Holden Dealer Team’s past, most associated with the late, great Peter Brock. As for the vehicle itself, it is expected to feature “Director” spelled across the decklid and feature more luxurious appointments. Silver Brembo brakes, heated and cooled seats, Magnetic Ride Control and unique 20-inch wheels with a red band running around the diameter are said to be planned.
Commodore Motorsport Edition
The Motorsport edition is said to be what replaced what we once knew as the Bathurst edition. This special edition will feature slotted brake discs, heated and cooled memory seats, Magnetic Ride Control and a standard blackout package.
Commodore Commemorative Edition
Finally, the Commodore Commemorative edition will feature dozens of special attributes to create a unique, final send off edition for the VF Series II. This vehicle is still being held closely, and we do not know exactly what will be present design wise.
A select few new colors will join the VF Series II range, but no changes in engine output or overall engineering are planned. Furthermore, regular Commodore sport models will receive the blackout package standard, with chrome trim becoming a no-cost option.
The 2017 VF Commodore Series II will become available in February of 2017 after the 2016 model year wraps up in January of 2017.

Re: 2017 VFII Commodores Final Editions
In regards to ordering:
Each dealer has an allocation and that's final. All the dealer can pick from is colours and options, which must be set either by lock-in date on earlier builds or by the 24th of April for all builds later in the year. There will be no customer orders. If the dealer can't supply you a car from what they've been allocated, they need to then try and swap with another dealer, which is going to be hard work, because dealers are going to treat these like their babies.
Price rises:
SEDANS/WAGON
SV6 + $1,000
SS + $2,500
Redline + $500
Calais + $1,250
Calais V + $760
Caprice V + $500
UTE
SV6 + $1,000
SS + $2,500
Redline + $1,500
These are RRP increases.
Re: 2017 VFII Commodores Final Editions
As mentioned by my rep earlier this year no performance increases as expected.
Re: 2017 VFII Commodores Final Editions
With all that said and done I'm happy with my MY14 SS storm ute. It owes me less than a MY17 redline and really only is missing passive entry/start and the HUD, only one of which I'd like to have, and is shitloads quicker/sounds better to boot. Thought about the upgrade but with the price increases since I've bought mine even if mine didn't have mods it wouldn't be worth it.
Re: 2017 VFII Commodores Final Editions
How do they justify the Redline Ute jumping in price more than the sedan? The ute already gets ripped off by not getting the sunroof or DVD screens....

..............
not strictly correct
at this stage that only applies to Redline and V (any models)...
Holden will take your order for say a SV6 or EVOKE and build it.. but ONLY to a firm order
as I found out yesterday when I queried both Holden Fleet sales Management and a couple of the dealers I buy our company cars thru
(as I will be buying EVOKES and SV6s in 2017 to renew part of the fleet)
Holden did say that supply will 'tighten' in the 2nd quarter of 2017 ... and hinted NO orders will be taken after June 30 FOR ANYTHING
(that is not unexpected if they want an orderly windup to manufacturing)

Hi
Holden are probably charging customers extra for the Redline ute over the sedan because it has more head room inside due to having no sunroof!

That's exactly what a mate of mine mentioned after buying an early My15 SSV ute & doing mods, hard to justify trading in on a new SSV for the extra .2!! :lmao:

The only thing I'm a bit sad about is that Some Like it Hot is an unreal colour and came out for MY15 about a month after I bought my MY14. But I'm not unhappy with the peacock and at the time I got very, very good pricing for an MY14 on runout with an employee discount.
