Hi Folks,
As the title suggests, I am after suggestions as to how large a capacity battery can be put into the Caprice I have. The location is in the boot.
My thanks in advance.

Assuming the layout of the WM battery compartment is the same as a VE, with a bit of finessing you can get in an Optima D27F yellow top 830 CCA. Just need to open up the hole in the top bracket with a rats tail file so it will sit a little higher and bend the bracket very slightly. Also, be careful when positioning the battery - need to avoid having the rear bolt in the side bracket pressing against the battery. It's a mighty tight fit, but I've done both an SSV and a Senator.
If same as VE D35 redtop goes straight in.
D27F is what I was recommended a few years ago by the guy who was then manager at Optima as that's what many taxi drivers were now using. The place I got it from here in Ringwood for my E1 Senator took about 30 secs or less to modify the battery holder and 3+ years later it's still going strong, despite being totally flattened on numerous occasions (still trying to chase down a battery drain problem).
The D34 has less capacity but the terminals are back to front for VE/WM (slightly longer mod required as I used one in my previous SSV ute - about a minute). D35 has less capacity again but terminals are right way around.
If you can afford it (check eBay as prices vary a fair bit) then IMO the D27F is a no brainer!!
