I've done 12 runs now and the best I can manage is a fairly consistent 13.3 @ 107mph (173km/h). Most 60' times are 2.2 which is the best I can manage at the moment.
I can't figure out why I am getting such a low mph when unopened VE utes are getting this sort of speed. The car is lowered on King super lows with the heavy duty option on the rear.
Does anyone have any suggestions or explanation as to why I wouldnt be running closer to 115mph?
Have you had someone experienced drive it down the strip? With that power and a good pedaller you should be down into low 12s. Having said that, I know a few people with M6s of similar and even greater power who struggled to get into the 12s because they just couldn't get the power down. 2.2 for 60ft is indicative of problems getting the power down and every 1/10 improvement there translates to much more in ET at the end. Even so, your mph does seem low for that power.
Kings super lows and heavy duty suspension on a ute would not help traction at all, I reckon with a suspension setup like that on a ute it would wheelspin like crazy.
Your power and the rest of the combo should get you into the 11's with 115 plus mph with some decent traction and a skilled driver.
You might need to practice launching it a little somewhere on the street as well perhaps because it can be very hard to hear and feel
how much traction you are getting at the strip with a helmet on.
With that power in a VE ute, I would expect to see 120-122mph
Thanks for the replies guys.
I am totally aware that it may not in fact be making all of those 326rwkw it made on the dyno however it did make 267rwkw prior to the cam (bolt on mods) and it is definitely a lot, lot more powerful on the road now. Lets say it was only making a true 300rwkw, it still should be doing more than 107mph down the strip.
I haven't had anyone experienced drive it because I dont really know anyone in sydney at the drags however id jump at the chance to let someone who knows what they are doing take it for a drive.
If I was able to get my RT down under 2.0 sec will that result in much of a mph change?
I am a new member so unable to post pictures however Post number 214 in this thread has a picture of my dyno chart. http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthre...-Part-1/page15
