I.e. they dont look like the normal wheel barrow handles that stick out the back of HQ-HZ's.

I was going to go 2 1/4'' but after chatting to the guys they suggested the 2 1/2'' as the motor has some work done to it.
It does sound better in person.
Yes they are nicely tucked up. I dont like the long straight tips that seem to go past the bumper.

The best pipe/tips i have seen, had the 2.5" pipe tucked up high but the chrome 45 deg tips did extend to the end of the beaver panel/rear bar. Looked very neat! IMO the longer straight section that a majority of these cars ran, looks good you just don`t want it to be too long as starts to look a bit out of place.
What the new exhaust sounds like from the inside

Thats just music to ears ziggy, bet its hard keeping your foot out of the throttle, all you would want to do would be to keep hearing that thing, love it mate. You have to be over the moon about it :D
Cheers
Matt
thats sounds just awesome...5.0's always have a nice tone
I reckon you got those pipes just right...both in looks, and in sound......well done.
Cheers, Pickles.
very jealous mate! Some thin red walls would finish it off a treat imo
Yep, very tempting to put the foot down all the time. the more I push the foot down the better it sounds. Very happy with it. I took my wife for a drive this morning and had the AM radio on, she said, Do you have better music, I said yep, turned the radio off and put my foot down.
Cant beat the sound of a carbied 308.
Cheers. I was a little worried that the 2 1/2'' may be too big but worked out perfect.
Agree. Have found a place in Vic that sell them and waiting on a quote from them. Very hard to find 14'' performance tyres.

tight! Be sure to get some pics up straight away :)
Love the color mate
Sounds awesome, maybe just stay in lower gears and rev a liitle all the time as you drive it.
The old Holden V8's (253 or 304/308) just have a great exhaust note, better even than the Chevs (307, 327 & 350) and of the older cars the only one I thought was better was the 351 cleveland.
RE Cleveland sound...Really surfy? The majority of clevelands i have heard/driven have always had a bit of soft/light note or tone to them (think of old F350 towies) and never sound as tough or V8 like, compared to a holden/old chev or windsor. You can make clevo`s sound good but it must take the combo/mufflers to get the good note from them.
My dad had a 253 HQ with twin 2" and it sounded awesome, he then went to a Ford XD fairmont wagon with a 302 and had a twin 2 1/4" exhaust fitted, he also had a '77 F100 ex Ambo 351 twin 2.5" into single muffler 3" outlet and they never sounded anywhere as good, my grandfathers XD S pack 302 wagon had twin 2 1/4" and sounded tuff as, but then my brothers XD fairmont ghia 351 with twin 2 1/4" sounded flat like both my dads ford V8`s.
Cheers Phill
Gave the HQ a good wash and wax on the weekend. Also had this plaque made up from Stainless steel.
