I believe these are the biggest fins ever to appear on a "factory" U.S. car.

For anyone interested in the history of drag racing, this is a very good clip indeed.
The atmosphere portrayed appears to be very similar to that which existed in the early days of drag racing in Melbourne, at the old Fishermans Bend Air strip.
You will note the absense of safety barriers etc, I can remember watching Ash Marshall start a run in his 2000HP hemi powered AA fuel car, I would've been standing about 10' away from the car on the line!
In these times, 2000HP with a S.C. 392 Hemi was about the top level, with people like Ash Marshall, Graham Withers, & top times were in the 7 second region, a far cry from today. Edie Thomas was another regular.
Ron Harrop was a regular competitor, & a great numbers of guys would be in their modified early models, EH Holdens, customlines etc, & plenty of hot rods,..one car that comes to mind is a R.R. Merlin powered early model Holden, the driver of which sat through the rear window!
Anyway, IMHO, a pretty good film clip (don't think we called 'em "videos" in those days!), well worth a watch if ya've got the time.

I hear you .. I was taken as a young bloke ( about 12 yo I think I was) to the FBend strip by my father in 1965 (or was it '66?) to watch the action there
... this new (to him) motor racing activity called drag racing. Amazing... ! the sight, smell, smoke and noise I loved it*
Doing my 1st car up, Graham Withers Speed ship on Nepean Hwy, Cheltenham was close by and I bought cams from Eddie
Thomas' shop (later Speco Thomas when Brian Sampson bought 1/2) in suburban Caulfield (so ..living in Bentleigh was a bonus)
As a result, my first involvement/attempt at motorsport.... motor racing was drag racing
*ps.. my mother hated when we went to FB drag racing, both of us came home 'stinky' she used to say
alcohol fuels, open exhausts putting out raw fuel, tyre smoke... yeah stinky says it all
