Re: VF Commodore revealed - Official details and pics - Part 4
keep in mind the audio upgrade in the ssv is only the speakers. I want a sunroof as well and when you consider the cost, a redline starts to come into the picture ;)
Has anyone driven a redline vs a ss-v, interested in the suspension difference, especially the ride during cruising on highways. Still waiting for my local dealer to have both in stock to test drive.

That's dirt cheap. The Audi Bose option was $8200.00

I doubt this would be the same standard as the audi option....but for sunroof it is very good...

I doubt anything but the most sensitive bum would pick any difference, especially just cruising.

I have a VF SS V and I was initially concerned the non Bose audio systems would be rubbish but I can assure you the SS V stock system sounds great and has great Bass. There is what appears to be two small subs in the rear parcel shelf as well as the two speakers in the rear doors. Tweeters in the front a pillars and a decent centre speaker compared to the VE. Not as good as a aftermarket if course but impressive for stock.

Wonder if they got the phase correct on the subs this time?

Calais or SV6 6M? I can't decide, need to wait for dealers so I can see in person and test drive.
IS the SV6 proximity key to?

Calais over the sv6 IMO. No passive entry in sv6/ss

Bit worried about the build quality. Looks like the vent isn't clipped in properly and some of the wiring is hanging out. This was on an SSV Redline wagon that still had plastic all over the interior, so freshly delivered.

Not really a judgement on build quality as I highly doubt it left the factory like that, considering the number of eyes that pass over it before it leaves. More likely it was knocked out in transit to the dealer (or someone tried to pinch it and bailed out) and has just been badly jammed back in.
Re: VF Commodore revealed - Official details and pics - Part 4
That's why I like old GMH MD Peter Hannenberger - he was great at sorting out the quality and my VXII has proven that over time ...
Lets hope that the current Mark isn't pre-occupied with other import matters to still remember quality sells it's self.

As soon as I heard they'd asked staff to take a pay cut I immediately wondered if QC would suffer, but I do agree with XLR8
Re: VF Commodore revealed - Official details and pics- Part 2
Yeah, I'd say it got pulled out and whoever put it back got the wires caught.

Yeah, this is on my mind. We're likely to order a Cruze in the next month or so. It would probably be built right in the middle of these heated discussions around wages. Should I be worried?

My VE HSV had 8 inches of the rubber seal down the side of the windscreen hanging out far worse than that plus the weld dags where they cut the guards for the vents just painted over without being filed smooth.
Even though it came with a final quality check sheet from HSV, no one there or at the dealership supposedly noticed them until I went to pick it up. I could see the rubber hanging out from about 10 metres.
The windscreen was removed and reinstalled and both guards were filed back and repainted. So yes it can happen.
