Envyous customs Body Diagnostics and my ALDL cable and my shitty surface pro takes no time at all ,its funny the PPK is for 235/45/17 tyres not that there is really any difference or much differnce between them and a 20 ,if need be i can make it read a little higher but i think where it is will be fine .
The software has a 30 day licence for $50 or $300 for 12 months 1 month 28 days will do me .
Great software to use cleared up a few issues with all of our cars changed some dash settings and such and fixed a speedo ..
To undo the top 4 bolts holding the diff in I found using my son”s Bahco pass through socket set as ideal. You can adjust the angle in minute degrees which allows you to access the handle with ease.
Could have done with something like that .
Now i have a specially bent and twisted ring spanner which works well plus my extra long 17 mm flat ring spanner and i hope that i don't need to replace another diff.
If there is a next time he breaks it he fixes it not me.
Back again ,after all of the work i did on the Ute it would appear the pinion seal is now leaking it's only being driven i think 4 times since i replaced the diff ,gotta love the smell of diff oil on a hot exhaust i haven't put it on the ramps yet but looking under it there is a fair bit on the exhaust might look at it properly tomorrow.
It was in the driveway to see how much it was leaking but that didn't work as the exhaust runs right under the yoke so it drips on that ,more fun i guess.
Damn!
That is a pain! :banghead:
Well looking under the Ute there is oil on the exhaust but no oil that i can see leaking from anywhere it's all dry pinion is good nothing on the donut nothing on the yoke no spray marks nothing so iwill leave it parked on the ramps for the arvo and check later i know they can leak from the nut on the yoke mmmm will dig more into it might need to take it out and get it hot and check then .
Went over the bolts while i was there some where not tight funny thing is it's the right side the one that broke originally all the others were fine, should i have put Loctite on them ??
Well it looks like the Ute will be sold it will be on Grays site middle next week i think not dealing with Morons and rednecks and other drop kicks that could show up if we had it advertised from home we will just wait now ,put the Simmonds back on it new tyres cleaned polished looked nice was fun ,now he wants to buy a house fair enough in my book.
Also going to look at selling the VYSS next funny thing is i could do with a Ute ,so i might go and look for one to run around in .
Every time I have had a ute in my life and sold it I have regretted no longer having a ute, you really do miss how useful they are. We had a dual cab Hilux 4 x 4 as our family car back in the late nineties when living in Nowra (well before they were commonplace as family transport). If you only have one car, a dual cab ute really ticks all the boxes. My SS Ute whilst very useful for dump runs and getaways for me, the wife and our bikes is a bit compromised for any other purpose ie If kids want to come with you.
I have a trailer which I find does most things that I need.
If I had a trailer now I would have to sell a car to make room for it lol, that ain't happening.[/QUOTE]
i have no room for a trailer as i currently have 6 cars out the front there was 7 and no where to keep one anyway ,but if i do need a trailer i have access to two of them ,next problem i don't have a car with a tow bar and i am not putting one on the Redline.
But anyway it's not going to happen in the next month or so later this year after we get back from Europe.
No go only got to $11,300 then they wanted him to drop the reserve and sell it for less ,needless to say it's here at home out front thats probably where it will stay for the time being until he figures out his next step ..
In the mean time i cleaned and polished our VY SS painted the wheels she looks nice ,had it up on the Face space for a week then removed it ,daughter got hit in her CX9 by and old guy in a VE not her fault she has a hire car to run around in for 2 weeks but took the SS off there in case we need to use it as she may need the Berlina drive once the insurance is sorted on her , car it will be written off i am sure of that as the bottom of the B pillar on the pass rear door is pretty well squashed in and the door is bent and ripped open doesn't line up or shut properly, front door as well ,just have to wait and see.
