Google or search here for "decontenting", Holden's name for ripping bits off their cars to make a few bucks extra.

Ohhh my searched here.....
That's sad, really it is...
No drama to reuse the old light/switch/wiring, it's a bit odd as my Cross6 isn't what I'd call a high spec car to begin with (no climate control so a bit of a PoV pack)
Maybe it's an early enough build not to have suffered "decontenting"
Thanks for the heads up Cashie I'll sleep better tonight knowing I didn't get a freak loom!
One step forward 2 steps sideways!
Turns out Holden never offered a 6.0L engine in a non climate control car so I ditched the plan to get another harness and went back to plan #132a...
I'll collect a climate control from one of the guys here then get the heater box from Holden, also getting the up spec dash cluster, cleaned the interior today and that'll do me for this week.

Today p.s
Had to go to the post office and my Torx+ Bit had arrived, came home all excited to get the bellhousings off both transmissions and would ya believe it the SAME damn bolt in Trans #2 rounded out..... arghhh
Whipped out the drill and a square easyout and within a few minutes it was out :D
Just wanted to post words of kudos. I check on this thread occasionally to see progress. Looks like a major underaking. Top stuff for giving it a go. Keep the updates coming.
Thanks for that! :)
As I said in an earlier post if I'd know just how much needed to be changed I probably would have just bolted a blower to the V6 and called it a day...
A mate from Melbourne picked up my Climate Control dash facia and bought it up yesterday and we were discussing the ABS and that the V6 has ESP, the consensus is the Control module on the pump "may" be different so I need to check with Holden in the morning before I go collect my other parts.....
(it's wired differently for the rear wheel speed sensors and might throw an error message if the Yaw sensor isn't there)
Arghhhhhhh......................
Just checked the Climate Control plugs on the Harness and controls... they're different..:vpo:
this job is rapidly turning into a massive PITA..
the module will be different definately.. and yes 100% will throw codes if all the sensors arent connected....
2 ways to approach it. either run what the v8's had which is traction and abs and not the ESP (means getting all those modules) or stick with the v6 setup and run it as though its a v6 and suck it and see how the auto behaves with it (the later will be cheaper if works but it may not like it and also could be a little dangerous as the esp has the ability to lock different brakes on etc.. and if not getting the correct signals etc.. from everything it may turn nasty)
Think I'd rather go with the V8 parts and it to be reliable, there's a good chance this will spend some time sideways so ESP wouldn't be a benefit to me. ;)
Problem there would be the loom will be for a LHD car but thanks for the suggestion!
Today!
Ok one step forward one step to the left.... ;)
Sorted the Climate control issue, turns out Holden supplied me with a harness for single zone CC, the control box I got is a dual zone unit, cheaper to source the new control than another harness as I can't return the one I have.
No real drama as I can use the dual in the Adventra if it ever needs it, I broke a clip on the windscreen scuttle removing it but they're dirt cheap so I ordered another, ditto on the seat trim that covers the bolts.
ABS Module is specific to the Tonner/Cross6 crewman so I ordered the correct one as it's not something I'm willing to gamble on.
Parts will be in tomorrow morning so I'll shoot across then and collect them.
Luvin this thread IJ,great to see a build thread in the "happening" way everyday!
I think you need to show us around your workshop abit, seems to me you have all the shizzle to take on most any job.:goodjob:
Glad you're enjoying it!
I tend to get a bit OCD about projects and I promised myself this one was going to be different....
Phase #2 will start in October so that gives me another 6 months to complete phase #1, with that in mind I need to back off a bit and have some fun instead of it being the Kokoda Death March.. ;)
Not sure what you want to know about the Big Shed, It's a good place to work and fairly self contained, eventually I'll buy a few more specialised machines and have been looking at chassis dyno's but there's the enviromental issues to take into consideration living in a valley..
(built a twin 3" system for a bud's 4.0L V8 Soarer and fired it straight out of the headers for 20 seconds and EVERYONE within 10Km's heard it and commented at the NYE party...)
I'm starting to wonder where you live bud. I am an ex Ballarat bloke, so know of Dave and Matt.
140K round trip, valley, may put you somewhere in the Maryborough direction - I get up to "the valley" in Dunach quite often!
