Fark, I hope the fit and finish will be better on the production models.
Hoping they are just pre-production things or the angle of the camera..
Gauges look to be voltage and oil pressure (Murph says oil temp but the units are kPa)

I can't remember which guage is swapped out but I think voltage is replaced with boost on the GTS
Re: HSV Gen- F Official Pics and Video Released (Warning: pic heavy)
they've really grown on me since first glance!
On looking, it appears that there is a speaker mounted up on the dash, perhaps that is the reason for the gauge relocation? That position is actually fine - I had the Microtech dash in my R32 mounted in exactly the same spot.

Agree. The pic earlier in the thread I referred to in a previous post is of voltmeter and oil pressure, I'm sure.

I cant believe no one has commented on the engine covers....WHAAAAAT. I mean yeah lets chuck in some cheap gauges to fill the space...and some OVERsized bling and call them badges.....but those engine covers are unbelievable.

Nobody else is shocked at the fit around the bonnet and headlights on the white R8?
That is the sort of thing that tilts me heavily in favour of the AMG.

You're tossing up between a HSV and an AMG? Really?

Sure am, but they are very different beasts which makes any reasonable comparison difficult. But they are both on the shopping wish list.
The AMG is actually cheaper but much smaller. Don't think I can afford both which would be the ideal solution.
A highly strung 4WD turbo 4 2.0L running 1.8bar (26psi:1peek:) boost 360hp Vs a less stressed 6.2L V8 running 9psi boost 580hp but a lot heavier.
Large sedan Vs small sedan/coupe.
Out there aggressive styling Vs less out there looks.
But when I see fit like in that video I get worried, hopefully it was a slapped together pre-production R8 for the release videos and doesn't represent final builds.

I would have thought the official release cars would be "perfect" because first impressions are lasting impressions
