Thanks Fab. I've been offline for a couple of days which is far too long for me!! :D I only logged on Fri from Chev's when I was there getting something done briefly, didn't log on at all Saturday as was too busy and intended to catch up on everything on Sunday. However, just after I got up on Sunday a branch fell on the power line to the house in all the wind and we only got power back on late yesterday, so I've finally caught up on other stuff.
See you now have a DSG GTi - lovely!! If V8s were ever banished I'd end up with something like that! :yup:
Love the wheels and i like it in white as well!
looks mint wonks!! love the look of the ve utes!
that kpm system looks too good to hide under the car!, also that otr, hurry up and put it on! im keen to see what it looks like.
the wheels look tuff along with stance!
Thanks Adam. I've never been a fan of utes before but when I saw the VE I just had to have one!!
OTR goes on this Thursday, along with a Chev tune - can't wait!! :woohoo: The guy who did the hardlids James (worknssv) and I got is painting my split engine covers white for me and I pick them up on Fri. Hopefully with the OTR and engine covers on the engine bay will look good!
The linear actuators to raise and lower the hardlid suffered a delay in shipping and should be here next week I hope! :(
Hey wonky!
I am trying to creat a Hardlid actuator system for my VZ maloo, due to its heavy weight I will probably need 2 actuators. While I was looking for a ready made system I onlt found one company in the USA but it fit the actuator in tha middle /front of the lid (I think it woudnt lift my lid due to its weight).
could tou tell me where you found your system, im very interested to see how they do it, Also, if you dont mind, what it is costing you?
Here is the one i found

Hey Wonky.
The GTi DSG is an amazing car, and i love driving it.
we've also had it flashed tuned to 190kw. Its a real animal as a standard car, but with the tune, the thing is just mind blowing to say the least.
Its only downfall is that it breaks traction right up to 70km, even when at 60km and giving it the berries!
Sorry to hijack the thread mate.
Take care and will catch up soon.
Hi Simon,
The one I'm getting is the same as the one at http://www.a1tintmagician.com.au/accessories.htm. Via a different route I actually ended up making contact with the guy putting the kits together. I gather the Tweed Heads place is probably the first retailer set up to sell them, but the guy I'm going through is in the process of setting up others around Australia plus just opened a big business in country NSW. He expects to have first lot of stock first week in May and says I'll get the first one. Retail for the complete kit is $845 which I reckon is good value when you look at prices on the individual components.
Gary
Like the rims mate nice job. I think it should come down a bit lower in the front and your got yourself one shmick uterus.:goodjob:
Any news on the hard lid automation?
See post #233 - also getting actuators to raise and lower tailgate, operating off same remote as hardlid actuators. Tailgate actuators are still being perfected so may be a bit longer but that's no problem. Wiring for the actuators etc and reversing camera all going in next Thursday in preparation.
Big Rob has put the Dus OTR on (looks bloody good!) and done heater hose reroute, Chev has put base mafless tune in and Graham just doing lambda plugs so it will be on the dyno soon!
what sort of power output you hoping for Wonks?
:woohoo::woohoo:
I guess you can see I'm rapt! My sedan was (AFAIK) the highest powered bolt-on A6 L98 at Chev's with 264rwkw (261 on his new dyno), so given the ute hasn't even done 2,000km yet (the sedan definitely got much stronger after 10,000+km) and is a 260kw AFM L76 I was going to be happy with anything over 250rwkw.
260.3rwkw with Dus OTR and mafless tune. :woohoo:
Admittedly on the way home from Chev's this evening it was only about 11 degrees and crisp outside but the transformation has been breathtaking!! It feels as quick now as my sedan ever did!! Even the gearchanges felt lightning fast in normal mode at WOT and the TCM is untouched as yet!!
Pics of the awesome Dus OTR and dyno sheet shortly. :)
A huge thanks to Big Rob for fitting the OTR and re-routing the heater hoses down out of site, Graham for welding the lambda plugs in and of course Chev for the awesome tune!! :woohoo:
