Alex
The reason i went the th400 is one that it was cheaper and easier to do as my car was already manual and turbo 400's are a mechanical gearbox so no electronics just full manual shift. The A6 i would need all the wiring redone to the auto wiring and also i have seen to many bad reports with built a6's and didnt want to risk it, yes there are ones that are goin well but thought i would just go with the th400 and not risk the chance of wasting all that money.
Also with drag racing i think the th400 works well is because it is manually shifted and works great where as the A6 is electronically shifter and have to rely on the electronics to be perfect

Anyone had a run at Kwinana since Whoop Ass Wednesday has been back?
Re: VE 1/4 mile times only data base. - Part 1
Yes I've been down there, however they are still using the long 60' for Wednesday nights.

hey champ what do you mean by long 60' ??
Re: VE 1/4 mile times only data base. - Part 1
There is two sets of start lines.
The one closest to the tree is the correct one and is 60' to the tree.
There is also another start line that is about a metre before the correct start line, this is the one that is used on Wednesday nights usually.
Re: VE 1/4 mile times only data base. - Part 1
Ive been told all andra tracks use a false startline soposidly to protect the real startline from damage.
Re: VE 1/4 mile times only data base. - Part 1
okay i see what you mean so that isnt goin to effect 60' times ?? I'm assuming they just bring all the sensors back a meter
Re: VE 1/4 mile times only data base. - Part 1
No, the tree stays in the same place but the start line is further back.
ie: the 60' is longer and so is the track longer than 1,320'.

Most ive spoken to say it adds between 1 and 1.5 tenths of a second, bummer if u consistantly run 12.0 to 12.10 and are trying to crack an 11.

I think you are a bit off the mark there. If you are running 180kmh you will cross the line doing 50 metres a second. Therefore for every metre the track is longer will add 0.02 of a second. Not significant at this level of racing.
Re: VE 1/4 mile times only data base. - Part 1
My best so far is 13.4 @105 MPH
Ve Calais-V sportwagon L98 A6 2.9open diff
VCM Maf OTR intake
Pacemaker Tri-y extractors standard hi-flowed cats and Xforce twin mandrel bent 2.5 stainless catback
Got the bug now, that was my first night at the drags at willowbank, i'm itching for a 12 sec pass now

I got my info from a couple of old drag racers who run in superstreet and also with us on a wednesday, 1 of them has a car that runs 10.9 in superstreet but they said they cant break sub 11 on a wednsesday as the extra 1.5 meters goes on ur 60 foot times just what ive been told never tested it myself.

Do you have a tune for your bolt ons? If not, a tune and some 20psi rear tyres might get you what your after. Otherwise a 3.27 LSD diff will get you there.
