The other issue I have is with the screen sometimes it displays to the nav and other times it displays the source. I am playing music on a USB stick and sometimes it goes back to the song from the trip before, seems to have a mind of its own.
I am finding that going over bumps the slight rattle of the usb will switch the radio to the usb and back again. Maybe doesnt like my choice of music.......

Anyone find the rain sensing wipers are not as good as the VE ones? I just can't fathom how the thing works. My E2 Senator's system was perfect.

I've had a few cars with Rain sensing wipers and have found the VF ones to be on par if not better than the other ones.

Havent had to test mine yet. Nor have I driven the car at night
Re: VF Commodore/HSV Owner's Problems & Complaints
No issues with mine..they work well :)
Re: VF Commodore/HSV Owner's Problems & Complaints
A mate who has a new Calais V made the same comment Simon but he was comparing to his RR Sport. Last Friday I found I had to play with the twisty thing a bit to get an appropriate setting and haven't touched it since. Well that is what I tell my wife.

I'm with you mate ... on interim they seem to swipe once when starting off and then they don't do anything ??? Not sure if the rain wasn't heavy enough ...
If you bump it up one to the first setting it was far to much for the rain we had, so I was just manually making it swipe every now and then so I could see.
Either it's not working or I'm doing something wrong ... might need to read the manual!

You can adjust the sensitivity :)

Yes I know but it seems much harder to get a setting that works.
Intuitively, turning the knob towards the finer/smaller section should make it more sensitive (less delay on intermittent) but it seems to do the opposite.
With my E2 Senator, it was perfect all the time just left alone once a sensitivity setting was settled on that I liked.

Just seems a bit all over the place to me, maybe it is "too smart" and is more sophisticated than the old system. I noticed when the sky got darker all of a sudden that made them want to go faster even though the rainfall didn't change. Strange.

Maybe the GTS gets rain / darkness sensing wipers

:yup:
Unfortunately, the manual doesn't actually give any instructions on the rain sensing wipers. It just says they may be fitted.
Re: VF Commodore/HSV Owner's Problems & Complaints
The worst part of them is when they become "bird poo sensing wipers" and smear the screen for you after a bird has deposited it's business. :D
Re: VF Commodore/HSV Owner's Problems & Complaints
I find that they seem to work ok when first getting in the car and turning it on but if you then start to adjust the wipers manually it seems to switch off the rain sensor i think anyway.

They Said, we will have a look at it, so the three commodore experts came out , stood around looked at it with there eyes, then all sorted of nodded, and that was about it.
so I didn't expect to much, and much to my surprise it still happens.

That was what I was expecting the Service Manager to do with mine and say we can't replicate the fault. But to my surprise he admitted it was a faulty seat base. I am still waiting for the replacement to come in it is 7 weeks now and it gets worse. It is not a pleasant feeling that is for sure.
Keep at them because it is not a "one off" problem.....
