More evidence of doing it "proper" :goodjob:
I don't know how many early Holden engines I'd had that others reconditioned though failed to replace the original plugs or just used oem ones that were doomed to fail!

Today End!
Well there's a day of my life I'll never get back.... I'd like to meet the guy that designed Rope Rear Main seals... I'd first ask him "Why" then I'd punch him in the side of the head as NO answer he could possibly give would justify their existence...
Spent the entire day getting it installed, Crank in/out probably 25 times, ironically it's been about 25 years since I've suffered through this BS...
Finally got it within Spec so called it a day.

Gold plugs, are they to match the gold accents on the car ? ;)
Yes mate very primitive seal, there are some good ones & the very very bad, glad to see you have the patience to get it right! Lucky your not a drinking man too!:lol:Quote:

Man those stroker cranks look tight in those holes! :goodjob: IJ
Yeah it's pretty full in there now, was reading today about a 390+ CI Holden based engine... might get a feeler gauge between it and the block (as long as it's 10 thou or under) ;)
So the block required zero clearancing for that rotating assy?
interesting the differences with a standard 304 bottom end (if you can the bottom of my race engine ... standard :) )

That would be the block I'd have chosen but he wanted to stay Matching numbers...
(If I had a say it would have been an LS swap) ;)
Today End!
Early start and an early finish to today, the Cam Retainer had a crack/gouge in it and being a sintered part I didn't want to risk it so have a new one inbound..
