The problem is that I have a gmail accounts and another accounts. The gmail app and the Android email app do not appear together in a combined view. It's very annoying and not at all intuitive. Sure you can add your gmail account to the email app instead but that is not the way most people will setup their phones after purchase. It's just another example of the mess that is Android as far as I am concerned.
I have gmail, hotmail and my normal email running through the standard email app which shows a combined view of all of my inboxes. It was simple to set up and it works as it's supposed to. I don't see where the problem is.
Some people just love the iOS and cant accept the way anything else operates.
As said, there is no problem setting it all up in the original email app, is it really that much of a struggle to get your head around?
When the iphone first came out, you couldnt even add a hotmail account without bypassing the system! Surely thats more of an "issue" than what youre tryng to argue over?
like this thread..... I have an iPhone and personally probably wouldn't change. That said, I have a mate with a Galaxy and it looks the biz. My wife is coming out of her N97 Nokia and we are trying to decide weather to get an iPhone or galaxy. It doesn't matter to me what she chooses but she has never used either.
I have had my iphone4 for well over 12 months now and for christmas my little brother got a new Samsung Galaxy S2. I had a play around with it and and to be honest was not all that impressed. The samsung was bigger, lighter but felt a bit plasticy. It was relatively easy to use but just didnt have the feel/feedback (it wasnt as interactive) that the iphone has. I can see why some people prefer it as there seems to be heaps more options especially to customise it a bit more. However personally I prefer my iphone, its simple, easy to use and does everything i need really well.
My kids contracts are up so looks like we will be upgrading them to the new 4s, that will make 2 iphone4's and 3 iphone 4s's in the house :)all are on 3/Vodaphone bar mine which is Telstra for country reception, but the other thing is that all phones will have the same contacts on them incase of a failure and you can change sim cards between them as they all run the micro sim...
I went to the Apple store in Perth today and they have sold out of the 4S .
Its just after Christmas mate, most places will probably be sold out!
My sister had to wait 3 weeks for hers, she got it last week on Vodaphone and my mum was also told a 4 week wait with Telstra.
My Wife still has an iPhone 4, My sons and i have have switched to Samsung Galaxy S. We can share data an connect with eveyhting, the iPhone 4 is Apple and that means it will not play well with the other phones or devices that are not Apple.
for work i need to transfer/exchange info with other machines/people. Just cannot do that with an iPhone unless they have an iPhone too.
Never going back to Apple it is to limited, even the latest features of the iPhone 4 S are only catching up to what was already on the Galaxy S.
Markiting has a lot of people that is why the iPhone sells well, it was the first really good smart phone, but no longer, Galaxy S is outselling iPhone .
And the iPhone 5 is still not going to be here till 2013, but it may be better now steve jobs limitations can be removed, Flash for exmple.
I should have called before heading into the store , but it was an excuse to get out on the bike :)Quote:

I did a little shopping a little later in the day and stopped in at a Vodafone store , they had them in stock and i paid $864 for the 32gb 4s instead of the $899 they are listed for on the Apple site.
So far it seems good , the call quality seems better than the N97 Nokia and i made and received a call from a room in my house where the Nokia was prone to dropping out or loosing the call altogether.
The Wi-Fi doesn’t seem that good but that could be my router.
