Pickles & Davo are right, my wife just pointed out a paragraph she found in her diploma info that she is completing for mortgage broking & it states that the low interest deals on vehicles etc are no free ride. The dealer still pays the finance company the going rates, its just they tack it all into the cost of the vehicle & tack their bit of comission in as well. The finance companies DO NOT lose out & neither will the dealers.Quote:

These are not serious performance cars, they are not AMGs, they are big sporty sedans with a bit of clout. Put one on the racetrack and watch it buckle at the knees after a couple of laps if you are in any confusion on this. Instead Blokey V8s for the masses - Thats what its all about.
What else do HSV need to understand?

Martin, just out of interest, what are the weak points of the HSVs at the track?
Something like this -
Oil Cooling
Gearbox Cooling
Diff Cooling
Engine Cooling
Oil Surge
Power Steering Cooling
Braking
Axle Tramp
I thought the brakes would be one of the non-weak points. They sure cost enough!
It depends how fast you go. All road car brakes wilt eventually. Their pad coeff of friction vs temperature simply isnt rated for that kind of use! :)
These cars arent designed for track work, so dont take them there and they will be perfect daily driver fast and comfy cars.

Sounds like you need to anonymously approve yourself as HSV CEO and tug the board members off so you can produce the worlds first truely unaffordable HSV!

Having said that its not solely a HSV problem. I copped a $15K discount on a new Evo X as it was on 08 plate brand new in Feb 10. Bonus :)
