They need to do something good with the Auto. It makes a huge difference to how effectively and efficiently power is applied.

In this day and age, are there still manuals that go faster and autos given the same power, weight, gearing etc?

Mmm yeah. It should be stronger but I don't think strength is a serious issue with the 80. Considering HSV are not doing the completely unique rear treatment or front fenders there should be something left in the budget for a bespoke gearbox?.... I mean camaro zl1 is only 60k in the USA.

The 6L80e was/is rated for 550Nm torque only, hence with every power (Kw) increase on the HSV range the torque (Nm) has remained at the same 550Nm.
