Re: Holden SS-V in the US
nice effort mate,
didn't read ot there but guessing your an ex-pat??
if not, makes all the effort seem even more impressive!
I really think the SS-V was what holden had in mind when the penned the VE - accentuates all the restrained and refined aggression
top job!
Re: Holden SS-V in the US
Thank you all for the feedback!
Let's see if I can answer some of the questions:
The Halo's are from AAC http://www.automotivelightstore.com/index.html
The are actually LED's. I bought a new set of headlights, and AAC opened them up and installed the LED Rings. They didn't completely reseal so I get a little fog in the headlights after washing. They look awesome at night, and photos don't do them justice.
The 76 LE is not mine. It belongs to a friend of mine, who is an ex-pat. He once told me that his is the only LE outside of Australia. He also has two Ford Falcons, one a streetable 302, and another caged open exhaust 351. All three are RHD.
I am not an ex-pat. Just a guy who wanted a car that was unique. I go to a lot of exotic car events and although 430 Scuderias are super cool, when there are 5 at every event you go to they lose a little something in cool factor.
Glad you like the color. I forgot that Evoke is not an SS-V color. At one point I was going to do orange accents, emblems, trim, and I was going to put on orange racing stripes. Decided it wasn't the direction I wanted to go, and went instead for a darker look. Still need to black out the chrome window trim, go with solid colored door handles.
Go fast? 351rwhp/261kw isn't enough huh? Go fast parts are in my future for sure. I am not sure what specifically I will use to get there, but the goal is 500rwhp. This is my daily driver so it has to be very drivable.
Wheels are 3 Piece Vossen 082. Rears are 20X10.5 +45mm with 285/30-20. Fronts are 20X9 +38 245/35-20. I rolled the rear fenders a little, and still have a touch of rub. Hopefully the additional dampening of the Pedders XA's I have coming next week will take care of that.
