Must admit those 22s on the white ute do look OK but most people with any reasonable power would (IMHO) be better off to run 20x9.5 or 20x10 on the rear to get the power down better.

i have pentagons with 9.5/275 rear as well and to be honest the 22's hook up better because its harder to push such a huge rolling diameter off the line so its less likely to brake traction....it is alot harder on the clutch with 22's and the power is down as well....my car has 303rwkw on 20's and 280rwkw on 22's...but man the 20's look too small...

I’ve always been a bit indifferent to 22’s on VE’s mainly because every second set I see seems to be Advani Tourer’s or something very similar. It’s got to the stage where I can’t stand the sight of them anymore.
But credit where credit’s due, that white Ute looks hot, good to see a different rim for a change.

While 22's may look hot in some circumstances, let me point out that you need to run a typre that's at least a 95 load rating (and even that is cutting it fine with the weight of VE's), and it is very difficult to find any (reputable brand) tyre that'll both a) fit underneath the guards without some serious guard mods; and b) have decent sidewall thickness. I know because I've enquired a couple of times with various companies about getting 22's for mine.
Better off sticking with the 20's for the various reasons people have already specified, e.g. insurance, ride quality and tyre life.
as most of these guys have stated they are illegal to run unless you have load rated tyres i had 22 inch avanti desires running 255/30/22 95 w with coil overs on the front and triple sssl,s on the back
back guards rolled real tight and front guards rolled even further . your chioce 22,s look mad 20,s will look just as mad if you get the right wheel . hope this helps cheers brad
Agree the 22's look great. BUT ... insurance & ADR issues should be the real consideration. Where I drive the HWP would also take a keen interest in 22's fitted in contravention to the the rim size stated on the tyre placard. They arent exactly sublte and would give them (HWP) a reason to pull you over and then look at the exhaust, CAI etc etc etc.
Smartest thing that has been said in here. 20x8.5 up front, 20x10 rear with mass amounts of dish. Looks better than 22s, rides better than 22s and gets more traction than 22s.Quote:
