Exactly what I said. Your thoughts are based on stock power figures where the torque curve peaks then stays flat. That's a tuning choice by the manufacturer to limit torque and is not a true representation of what boosted engines can do when the chockerchain is removed
Re: Fpv 335 GT/F6 = LS1.... What's required??
Exactly right. you only need to see the type off power we are getting out of the coyote when the factory settings are turned off.
Re: Fpv 335 GT/F6 = LS1.... What's required??
Some of the times GT335 owners claim seems a little fishy.. The journos seem to be only able to get them around a flat 13 but every GT335 owner claims to do 12.5s???
The GT335 I saw went 13.03 then went slower as the night progressed.
Re: Fpv 335 GT/F6 = LS1.... What's required??
I can tell you there is absolutely nothing fishy as you claim about these things. I own one and as i said , dead stock it ran 12.6 on factory dunlops, i have also seen for my self a handfull of others run the same if not quicker. the one you saw obviously did not go as well as it should or could have been manual and may have had traction issues. Sorry mate, but there the facts.

You do realise the magazines test with 2 people onboard, 3/4 tank of fuel, no traction compound and no roll out dont you???? Times by private owners at purpose prepared drag strips will always be faster than what the mags get.
Re: Fpv 335 GT/F6 = LS1.... What's required??
I'd be more inclined to believe the owners rather than some journo having a one off blast in it.

One of bouka's 12.5 runs was against my car so is absolutely correct and was exactly as he drove it to the track, as are all his runs.
Re: Fpv 335 GT/F6 = LS1.... What's required??
Magazines use vbox as well which starts the timer instantly. On the strip you cut the beam to start the run. It's worth a little bit. But not .5
Re: Fpv 335 GT/F6 = LS1.... What's required??
Might have a chance if he bolts a Centri Charger on and polishes it up with magic snake oil polish....

Who tuned your GT and what power did it make before / after?
Thanks,
Alex
Re: Fpv 335 GT/F6 = LS1.... What's required??
Alex, NIZPRO tuned it with SCT Flash software. I had the trans tune done to it aswell. Stock it made 312rwkw after the tune we got 370rwkw. The car Garry was reffering to was my turbo VX ss i used to have.

The media generally test two up ie. driver and passenger as well as with at least a 3/4 tank of fuel, a personal vehicle only contains the driver, generally run alot less fuel and the dual staging beacons at the strip are good for .2 sec over the GPS based systems the journos use! There's your .5 right there!

Next to me same night a fpv GT335 auto ran a best of 13.03 with most runs in the 13.3s, so I was close even then..
Since my last outing, I've fitted a ls6 manifold (previous was ls1 manifold) and injectors, fitted a 3.46 differential ratio from a m6 ss vx and a ported throttle body. Also had the car retuned. The car feels a fair bit more potent..
With my new round of mods, some better tyres and cooler weather I'd be hoping to go at least a flat 13 or dip into the 12s.
Is this enough to keep a fpv f6 or fpv GT335 honest? A pretty equal run?
Throw on some decent treads on the rear, that will make a hell of a difference. When you do that, in some cooler temps, your times will improve a lot.
Enough to keep those pesky Fords honest over a 1/4 Mile? I don't know.. They are pretty damn quick straight outta the box.
A mate of mine ran 11.8 in in his ZF Auto equipped Superchaged GT with just a flash tune.
The F6 Tyhoon has been around long enough now. It's performance capabilities are unreal.
